Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas Culture Awards to Air on Bravo

The Las Culturistas Culture Awards are ready for their television debut.
For the first time, Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ pop culture-based awards ceremony will air on Bravo. Currently running in its fourth year, the Las Culturistas Culture Awards will kick off on August 5 at 9 p.m. and will be available to stream the next day via Peacock.
The ceremony promises to “celebrate culture’s most iconic and consequential moments of the year. With more than 100 unique award categories, live musical performances and unexpected celebrity guests, this show brings culture’s most crucial moments to life,” per a press release.
Yang and Rogers co-host their podcast of the same name, Las Culuristas, where they discuss the latest happenings in the pop culture space and catch up with star-studded guests. They’ve interviewed the likes of Ariana Grande, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Cynthia Erivo and Charli xcx, among others.
“The word ‘culture’ is defined as ‘the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively,’” Yang and Rogers said in a joint statement. “We are so thrilled to eliminate that whole ‘intellectual’ part entirely with the LCCAs airing on Bravo and Peacock this August, alongside our partners at Lionsgate. August, alongside our partners at Lionsgate because while what the world needs now might be love, sweet love, it also needs to see an Oscar-winning actress and a Real Housewife come together to present a very heavy award to Oprah if we can book her. Oprah, u up?!”
The Fire Island stars are notable fans of Bravo and its discography. Ahead of the awards show airing on the network, they have been featured on Bravo in the past as guests on Andy Cohen’s late-night show Watch What Happens Live, where their passion for the network has been on full display.
“We are so happy to bring the vibrant and whimsical ‘Las Culturistas Culture Awards’ to our Bravo and Peacock audiences,” said Jen Neal, NBCUniversal Entertainment’s executive vp of live events and specials. “Matt and Bowen’s undeniable chemistry, playful humor and love of pop culture’s big and small moments have shaped this spirited award show, redefining what it means to celebrate culture.”
Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter unveiled Bowen and Yang’s joined forces with Cohen with the announcement of their first joint book, The Rules of Culture, Volume 1. The novel serves as Cohen’s first acquisition via his Crown Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House.
