A New Testament: Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Saints’ Renewed by Fox Nation for Season 2

Fox Nation has renewed Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints for a second season. The eight-episode sequel season will premiere in November 2025 and run through spring of 2026, encapsulating both the Christmas and Easter holidays. To span the Catholic Holy season, The Saints will be split into two halves.
The Saints features one saint per episode; season two will cover the Virgin Mary (Saint Mary the Virgin), Saint Peter, Saint Carlo Acutis, Saint Patrick, Saint Paul, Saint Longinus, Saint Lucia and Saint Thomas Becket. The Scorsese docudrama “explores the lives of these extraordinary figures and their extreme acts of kindness, selflessness and sacrifice,” per Fox Nation, which is Fox News Channel’s companion streaming service.
Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints was created by Matti Leshem and developed by Scorsese for Lionsgate Alternative Television.
“It was evident our subscribers wanted more, and we delivered,” Fox News Media chief digital officer and chief marketing officer (God, that’s a long title — can we say “God”?) Jason Klarman said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome back Mr. Scorsese for season two of The Saints, it truly has been a remarkable partnership.”
“For many years, I dreamed of telling stories of the lives of the saints. It’s been an obsession of mine for as long as I can remember,” Scorsese added. “So the chance to do this series meant the world to me, and it’s heartening to know that people have responded to it. I’m very excited to be coming back for a second season.”
“We were thrilled by the response to season one and are deeply grateful to Fox Nation for the opportunity to continue telling these extraordinary stories,” Leshem said. “The Saints celebrates the very best of humanity — courage, sacrifice, and above all, faith.”
Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints is written by Scorsese frequent-collaborator Kent Jones. The first season’s episodes were directed by Leshem and Elizabeth Chomko. In addition to Scorsese and Leshem, The Saints is executive produced by Craig Piligian, Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn and Christopher Donnelly. Along with Lionsgate, the series was produced by Sikelia Productions, Weimaraner Republic Pictures and LBI Entertainment.
Season one of Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints broke Fox Nation viewership and engagement records. The first season covered Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, Sebastian, Maximillian Kolbe, Francis of Assisi, Mary Magdalene and Moses the Black; Fox Nation says season one received “millions of unique views.” The Saints was the most-watched series on Fox Nation for each month in which a new episode was released.
