It’s officially a hot grill summer for chef Andrew Zimmern.
Ahead of the celebrity chef’s fifth season of Wild Game Kitchen, which premieres on Monday, June 30, the show’s cohosts presented the Food Network star with a mouth-watering cake to celebrate his birthday in a clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE.
The white-frosted cake is adorned with a medley of strawberries and blueberries, an ode to Zimmern’s birthday on July 4. What follows next is called out as a “pro move” by episode guest and All Up in My Grill host Dale Talde.
“This isn’t my first rodeo,” Zimmern says, after he cuts into the cake using an empty water glass as both a means to portion out the cake and use as his bowl.
The premiere of Wild Game Kitchen is part of Tastemade’s annual Grill Week. The series is hosted by Zimmern, and will feature more fan-favorite chefs including Pat Martin and Jess Pryles.
After indulging in cake, the cooks fire up the grill for the main event.
