Anjelica Huston Celebrates Health Milestone: “I’m in the Clear” After Conquering Cancer Battle Four Years Ago

Anjelica Huston is sharing details about her personal battle with cancer for the first time.
In a recent interview, the 73-year-old actress spoke about her “bout with cancer,” revealing that she was diagnosed in 2019 following the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. “That was a very serious moment for me. I managed to survive it, and I’m proud of myself,” she expressed.
While Huston did not disclose the specific type of cancer she faced, she emphasized the profound impact it had on her life.
“It’s not something that came lightly,” she shared. “It came as a big shock, but it made me conscious of what I shouldn’t do, of places I shouldn’t go. One of those places was taking life too seriously. So now when the opportunity arises, I laugh, and I try not to make a big deal out of things.”
Despite the scare, Huston is now “in the clear” and celebrating the four-year milestone since her diagnosis, which holds significant meaning for her.
“It’s a fantastic thing. I’m very proud of myself, and I’ve been very lucky. My doctors have been wonderful,” she stated.
To mark her recovery, Huston mentioned that she “just walked in my garden and smelled the roses and thought how clever I was.”
She decided to speak about her health journey to inspire others and provide hope to those facing similar challenges.
“Sometimes you feel like you don’t want to talk about it for the obvious reasons, but there’s a lot to be said for talking about it and getting it out there and celebrating the fact that one’s come through,” she explained. “Life is tenuous and wonderful. It also gives you the idea that the world is big and you can somehow match up to it. That you’re ready for whatever happens.”
Currently, Huston stars as Lady Tressilian in BritBox’s three-part limited series Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero, which premieres on April 16.
