Billie Lourd Marks Late Grandmother Debbie Reynolds’ 93rd Birthday with Touching Throwback Photo

Billie Lourd is remembering her late grandmother Debbie Reynolds on what would have been her 93rd birthday.
On Tuesday, April 1, the 32-year-old actress posted a throwback image of her grandmother on Instagram, showing Reynolds wearing a colorful blazer and Lourd in a white gown. The Booksmart actress wrote “Happy Birthday” to Reynolds using a series of emojis.
The screen icon died on December 28, 2016 at 84, just one day after her daughter (and Lourd’s mother) actress Carrie Fisher, 60, died of a heart attack.
Lourd’s appreciation for her grandmother’s legendary career has also been passed down to her children. Last March, the actress shared a post on her Instagram Story showing her son Kingston, 4, watching the movie Singin’ in the Rain.
The 1952 film starred Reynolds as Kathy Selden, an aspiring actress who becomes romantically involved with Don Lockwood (played by Gene Kelly), a silent-era movie star, during the transition to “talkies.”
The Scream Queen actress and mom-of-two recently told PEOPLE at the Mid-Century Modern premiere that she is grateful to have work and family-life balance — something she doesn’t think her mother or grandmother were always able to maintain.
“I think I’ve learned to balance my life and my work in a different way than they were able to do, and that was also a product of the times,” she said.
“I’m really lucky that I get to bring my kids everywhere. My grandma wasn’t able to do that with my mom. And I have a really stable, amazing family life and an amazing husband,” Lourd added.
