Brian Austin Green Is ‘Heartbroken’ Over Ex Megan Fox’s Split from Machine Gun Kelly: ‘I Want the Best for Our Kids’
Brian Austin Green is always going to come to Megan Fox’s defense.
News broke on Dec. 10 that Fox, 38, and Machine Gun Kelly had parted ways weeks after announcing that they were expecting their first child together, and Fox’s former husband was shocked to hear about the breakup.
In a video posted by TMZ, Green, 51, who was married to Fox from 2010 to 2020, said he had “no idea” the couple had split before sharing his thoughts on the breakup.
“How old is he? He’s in his 30s, right?” Green asked the reporter, who alleged that the singer was unfaithful to his former fiancée. “In your 30s, like, I don’t know, grow up, you know? She’s pregnant.”
“I just want the best for her, I want the best for the baby, I want the best for our kids,” Green continued.
Calling the split a “shame,” he said, he’s “heartbroken” to hear about it as Fox has “been so excited” about her pregnancy.
He also revealed that their three kids — Fox and Green share sons Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8 — are “so excited” about welcoming a new sibling, too.
Green’s response to the breakup news comes after a source told PEOPLE that Fox is in a “good place” with her ex and his wife Sharna Burgess and is “so happy about being pregnant.”
“She gets along really well with Sharna. Megan trusts her around the boys,” the source said of Burgess, 39.
“Brian’s a great dad, too. Megan feels fortunate that her boys are loved and always taken care of.”
Fox told PEOPLE earlier this month that her sons are “super excited for another addition to the family and have promised to help out and pitch in.”
She also opened up about how she’s navigating her fourth pregnancy, as she said she’s “already learned all the tricks to make my body feel well physically and mentally.”
“I am sleeping and exercising and sticking to my healthy diet and lifestyle, as always,” she said.
Fox was apparently “blind-sided” by the split from the singer, who she’s been dating since 2020 and got engaged to in 2022.
A source told PEOPLE she’s “been distraught” but is “trying to focus on” her pregnancy, which is “her priority” right now.
