‘Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth’ First Footage Reveals Text Messages and Audio of Late U.K. Host Before Suicide

A docuseries about what led to Caroline Flack‘s death is coming to Hulu.

Flack, best known as the host of U.K. reality shows Love Island, The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, died in February 2020 in London at the age of 40. Her cause of death was suicide.

Before her death, Flack stepped down as host of Love Island in 2019, following a domestic assault charge involving her partner, tennis player Lewis Burton. As a result of the accusation, she received a lot of online hate. And in the trailer, a woman says, “As far as I’m concerned, that is why she isn’t here today.”

Also in the trailer, text messages and audio notes from Flack are revealed, giving some insight into how that situation affected her mental health. “I feel the lowest I’ve ever felt” and “I don’t see any way out of this” read her texts while an audio clip of Flack crying, saying, “I’m just really going all over the place. My head doesn’t know what to think at any point,” is also heard for the first time.

Here is the official series synopsis: “Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth examines the shocking story of Caroline Flack, Love Island presenter and one of Britain’s biggest stars. After her arrest in 2019, she became the target of a relentless media storm. Vilified in the press and online, her world spiraled — ending in tragedy when she took her own life.”

At the end, Flack’s mom, Christine Flack, says, “I want justice for my daughter.” Then, an eerie audio clip of Flack plays, saying, “I think I should make a documentary about all of this. What do you think?”

The two-part docuseries premieres Nov. 10.

Dov Freedman, Charlie Russell and Jessie Versluys serve as executive producers for Curious Films. Christian Collerton is series director, and Sophie Clayton-Payne is series producer.
