Chrisley Family Returning to TV in Lifetime Docuseries From ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Team

The Chrisleys are back on Lifetime — and only a few of them via phone calls from a federal penitentiary.

The newly greenlit docuseries, The Untitled Chrisleys Project, will premiere later this year. This time, the Chrisleys are “pulling back the curtain” with “unprecedented access to their lives in a deeply personal and dramatic new series.” The Untitled Chrisleys Project hails from Bunim/Murray, the same group behind Surviving R. Kelly, The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Confessions of Octomom.

In the new series, “the Chrisleys don’t know best anymore,” Lifetime says in quite an understatement. “But they’re doing their best to be there for each other.”

Aw. Chrisley Knows Best aired on USA Network from 2014 to 2023.

While Todd and Julie serve prison time for bank fraud and tax evasion, back at home, Savannah has custody of her younger sister and brother, Chloe and Grayson. She’s also “been fighting tirelessly for a presidential pardon to free her parents.”

Because of course she has, and because with this president, pardoning a fellow reality-TV star is not above the office. Savannah Chrisley spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Meanwhile Chase is “addressing some life struggles” (no shit again) while simultaneously “building his new business and navigating his relationship with girlfriend Jodi.” Welcome to the family, Jodi.

Both Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley are executive producers on the new series. Phone calls with mom and dad in the pen will be part of the show, a person with knowledge of production tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Julie Chrisley is expected to be released from prison in 2028, with Todd’s expected release is 2032.

The Lifetime announcement goes on to say that “for the first time,” the Chrisleys are “exposing the raw truth of their lives — past and present.”

“This series delivers an unfiltered, deeply personal look at their journey and introduces the real Chrisleys as they navigate this new chapter,” it continues. The press release left out the part about monetizing their family pain.

Bunim/Murray is part of Banijay Americas; Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam, Jesse Daniels and Rit Saraswa executive producer the new series with the older Chrisley siblings. Nicole Blais is co-executive producer; Brie Miranda Bryant and Nicole Vogel executive produce for Lifetime.
