Ciara Teases the Plans Russell Wilson Has Made for Their Upcoming 9th Wedding Anniversary (Exclusive)

Russell Wilson is leveling up his anniversary plans with Ciara.

The “1, 2 Step” singer, 39, revealed at the Uber x Delta partnership event on Thursday, April 24, that her NFL quarterback husband, 36, is planning their 9-year anniversary in July 2025 with a getaway — but it’s all top secret for now.

“We’re going to travel some,” Ciara said of her upcoming plans with Wilson. “I don’t know where we’re going to go. Because my husband said we’re planning our anniversary trip and he does all the planning. So I’m excited for it.”

The musician added that traveling was the perfect way to celebrate their nearly decade-long marriage, as it’s something she particularly “loved” doing. For their anniversary last year, she shared clips from their trip to Europe, which included a dinner overlooking stunning water views. 

“I love walking with you, talking with you, being in your arms, and doing everything with you! I’m the happiest girl because of how you love me! I’m so grateful for our love! 8 years! So proud of us! Yay! Happy Anniversary my love! @DangeRussWilson. I love you so much!,” Ciara captioned the video.

The New York Giants quarterback shared his own post celebrating the milestone with a sweet compilation of the couple throughout the years, which also included cute snaps with their kids. Ciara and Wilson share Amora, 1, Win, 4, Sienna, 7, and Future Zahir, 10, from the singer’s previous relationship with rapper Future.

Alongside the sweet clips, which range from red carpet appearances and lovey-dovey home videos to footage from the couple’s 2016 wedding, Wilson also wrote a sweet message for the “Like a Boy” singer.

“Celebrating 8 years of God’s love & grace over us @Ciara!” the NFL star began. “Since we met, you’ve been my strength in every trial. My joy in every moment. My peace in every prayer. God blessed me with the most incredible gift in you!”

“I am so grateful for our journey together,” Wilson continued. “Here’s to a lifetime more. I love you Mrs. Wilson to Heaven & back! ❤️.”

Ciara and Wilson exchanged vows on July 6, 2016 — just over a year after they met at a Wisconsin basketball game on March 26, 2015. Later that day, the stars each confirmed their marriage on social media with photos from the big day and a shared message: “We Are the Wilsons!”

Ciara has attributed strong communication and consistent date nights to the longevity of her relationship with Wilson, sharing on Over It Radio in January 2025, “I really feel grateful for our ability to communicate with each other.”

“I feel like there’s nothing I can’t go to him about,” she continued, “And even if we have to find our way through it in the conversation, I feel very confident we’re going to make it on the other side.”
