  • Sean “Diddy” Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
  • Prosecutors allege he forced two women to participate in drug-fueled sexual encounters with male escorts
  • Combs has denied ever forcing anyone into a sex act

Jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial were read text messages he sent in 2022 to a woman with whom he had a tumultuous three-year relationship, telling her he had had “crazy fantasies” about her and a male escort.

The trial resumed Tuesday, June 24, with Teny Geragos, one of Combs’ attorneys, continuing her cross examination of Joseph Cerciello, a Homeland Security Investigations agent who has spent hours reading aloud text message exchanges between Combs and others in his orbit.

On Tuesday, jurors heard a text exchange from April 2022, just before an alleged hotel night with a male escort referred to in court as Leo. Combs texted his ex-girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym “Jane,” that he’d been having “crazy fantasies” about her and Leo, to which she responded: “Baby I wanna make love to you. I haven’t selfishly had you to myself for 5 months. I’m fine with the other stuff but I really just need you right now.”

Combs replied, “OK whatever you want,” and later asked whether Leo would be free after he and Jane spent one on one time together. After the encounter, Jane texted Combs that she was still thinking about him “loving all over me.”

On Monday, jurors saw a number of sexually explicit videos involving Jane and other men. The videos have been shown only to the jurors and the parties who wear headsets and view the material on screens to prevent them from being seen or heard by others in the courtroom.

Jane testified across six days about a sometimes loving relationship with Combs and about his having allegedly pressured her to have sex with male escorts throughout their relationship.

Geragos has sought to dispute the prosecution’s characterization of Jane as a victim of sex trafficking by arguing she was a willing participant in the sex acts. On Tuesday, jurors were shown text messages of her arranging sexual encounters with male escorts. Jane testified that she often “went along” with Combs’ requests for hotel nights because she wanted to please him, and that she still loves him to this day.

Combs is charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, and the government’s case centers around so-called “freak offs,” drug-fueled sex marathons he allegedly forced women to perform with male escorts while he watched and masturbated. He has pleaded not guilty.
