Daniel Kwan, Natasha Lyonne, Noah Segan and Janet Yang to Talk Filmmaking and Technology at Park City Panel Hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Autodesk

Daniel Kwan, Natasha Lyonne, Noah Segan and Janet Yang will take the stage for a timely conversation on innovation and independent filmmaking at a special event hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Autodesk, in partnership with the Berggruen Institute’s Studio B, at The Hollywood Reporter Studio at Park City on Sunday, Jan. 25.

Kwan, Lyonne, Segan and Yang will be joined by Matt Sivertson, vp and chief architect, entertainment and media solutions at Autodesk, for lively, forward-looking conversations that will explore how emerging tools, including AI, are reshaping creative workflows, expanding access and redefining what’s possible for independent storytellers working at the intersection of cinema and technology.

“Sundance has long been a launchpad for filmmakers defining the future of bold storytelling,” Sivertson said. “We believe professional-grade tools should be accessible earlier in a filmmaker’s journey, so ambition isn’t constrained by budget. Our focus is on giving creators modern, secure workflows — from collaboration and review to AI-assisted production — so they can stay focused on what matters most: great storytelling.”

Kwan, a three-time Oscar winner for Everything Everywhere All at Once and a producer of The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, premiering at Sundance; Emmy, Golden Globe and WGA nominee Lyonne; and Yang, producer and former president of AMPAS, are members of the Creators Coalition on AI — a cross-disciplinary group of artists, filmmakers, technologists and thinkers examining the cultural, ethical and creative implications of artificial intelligence. Segan, director of the Sundance title The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, and Sivertson bring additional perspectives spanning storytelling and technology, grounding the conversation in both creative practice and industry innovation.

Autodesk is changing how the world is designed and made, trusted by designers, engineers, builders and creators to help them design and make anything — from the stories we watch and the buildings we live and work in to the cars we drive and the bridges we drive over. From the products we use and rely on to the movies and games that inspire us. Autodesk’s Design and Make Platform unlocks the power of data to accelerate insights and automate processes, empowering our customers with the technology to create the world around us and deliver better outcomes for their business and the planet.

Studio B, founded by Alex Gardels, Nathalia Ramos An and head of development Nick Goddard, is the Berggruen Institute’s media and storytelling arm, working with leading filmmakers, artists and technologists to translate complex global ideas, including AI, democracy and systems change, into culture-shaping films, series and public conversations.
