Danielle Deadwyler, Billy Barratt, Alfred Molina Join David Jonsson, Cooper Hoffman in A24 Drama ‘The Chaperones’ (Exclusive)

 
Danielle Deadwyler, Billy Barratt, Alfred Molina, Tim Meadows and Dolly De Leon have joined the cast of A24 drama The Chaperones.
 
Plan B and Icki Eneo Arlo, the Robert Pattinson-fronted banner, are producing the feature that has indie darling India Donaldson directing. 
 
David Jonsson, Cooper Hoffman and Paul Dano are toplining the drama, centered on a drug dealer and his two slacker buddies hired to transport a troubled teen across the country. Hoffman is one of the “chaperones,” a young man who is aggressive and reckless. Jonsson is Cooper’s partner, a reluctant participant in the chaperoning business. Dano is the drug dealer.
 
Barratt is playing the teen who needs to be chaperoned while Deadwyler is playing Jonsson’s sister. Molina is playing Hoffman’s sleazy boss. Other character details are unknown.
 
Sebastian Black wrote the script for the feature, which is now in production.

Deadwyler, who last starred in Blumhouse horror movie The Woman in the Yard, counts movies such as I Saw the TV Glow, The Piano Lesson and Carry-On as recent credits. She is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency, Play Management and Ziffren Brittenham. 
  
Barratt starred in A24’s Philippou Brothers-directed horror movie Bring Her Back and appears on Apple TV’s sci-fi series Invasion. He is repped by Paradigm, Sylvia Young Agency and Hansen Jacobson.
 
Molina is an acting veteran (Spider-Man 2) whose latest feature appearance was in Doug Liman’s Apple TV movie The Instigators with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck. He is repped by Lou Coulson Associates and Anonymous Content. 
 
Meadows this year appeared in DC Studios show Peacemaker and is one of the stars of CBS workplace comedy DMV. He is repped by Reliant Talent Agency and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
 
De Leon was on the boat in Cannes darling Triangle of Sadness and also appeared in the Paul Feig-directed action comedy Jackpot! that starred John Cena and Awkwafina. She is repped by Gersh, Fusion Entertainment and Jackoway Austen.
