Diddy Trial Day 8 Live: Witness Testimony Continues, with Kid Cudi Appearance Possible This Week

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial is well underway and will feature more witness testimony Wednesday, May 21.
Kicking off the day on the stand was Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Gerard Gannon who was in charge of the March 2024 raid on Combs’ Miami home.
Gannon is set to be followed by Dr. Dawn Hughes — a sexual trauma psychologist who previously testified at R. Kelly’s sex trafficking trial and at Harvey Weinstein’s trial — and George Kaplan, who was once Combs’ assistant.
Rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, could take the stand this week.
Mescudi was previously in a brief relationship with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura after they met in December 2011, she testified last week.
Ventura, the prosecution’s key witness who was in a relationship with Combs for 11 years, has been the subject of much of the testimony from other witnesses.
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He could face life in prison if convicted. The Bad Boy Records founder pleaded not guilty.
Psychologist Taking the Stand Wednesday Has Experience at High-Profile Trials
Dr. Dawn Hughes, a forensic psychologist, will testify at Combs’ trial on Wednesday.
It’s the not the first time Hughes has taken the stand in a major case involving a celebrity.
Hughes previously testified at Harvey Weinstein’s trial, as well as R. Kelly’s sex trafficking trial. She was also called as a witness at the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard civil trial.
In April, Combs’ lawyers asked the judge to prevent Hughes from taking the stand, arguing in an April motion that her “testimony is advocacy masquerading as expertise,” NBC News reports.
