DJ Khaled Launches Joint Ventures With Influence Media Partners

Superstar producer DJ Khaled is launching two joint ventures through music company Influence Media Partners, the company announced Tuesday morning. Through the deal, Influence also said that it’s invested in Khaled’s music catalog, though the company didn’t specify the financial details of that investment.

Influence said that the company will be working with Khaled to develop film and tv projects, as well as expanding commercial opportunities with Khaled’s name, image and likeness rights.

“I’m proud that my legacy will continue to resonate and connect with audiences around the world with this partnership through Influence Media,” Khaled said in a statement. “These iconic recordings I’ve created will continue to be curated in the most optimum manner to impact culture with nearly two decades of music. “In addition, I’m excited for the world to see and experience the film and television projects Influence and We The Best are developing and producing together. This next phase of my career will be filled with ground-breaking cultural impact, and I look forward to being at the forefront in all categories.” 

Influence Media is backed by BlackRock and Warner Music Group. Founded in 2019, the company has been active in the catalog acquisition space, buying up rights from acts like Future, Blake Shelton and Enrique Iglesias. In a statement, Lylette Pizarro, Influence’s founder and co-managing partner called the new partnership “an alliance that will create boundless opportunities for this creative genius.”

“Influence Media was founded on the principle that music can move culture, and few entertainers embody this more than DJ Khaled,” Pizarro said. “His enormous creativity, heart, and drive are matched only by his savvy business instincts, and that is why the possibilities of what we can build together in this collaboration are immeasurable.” 

DJ Khaled is one of the biggest producers in the industry, with a catalog that includes major hits including “I’m The One,” “All I Do Is Win,” and “Wild Thoughts” among others. The new partnership comes two months after Khaled announced his upcoming 14th album Aalam of God, expected for release sometime in 2025. He announced the album in a seven-minute trailer, teasing that Drake will be featured on the project.

“DJ Khaled has had so many iconic eras in his career to date, and we couldn’t be more excited to build ‘another one’ through this first-of-its-kind partnership,” said Rene McLean, Influence Media Partner and CEO of SLANG, Influence’s record label and music publishing company. “Much in the same way that all the top artists consider a DJ Khaled collab a major career milestone, we think of this as a huge step forward for SLANG.”
