‘Doc’ Renewed for Third Season at Fox

Fox is keeping Doc on call for another season.
The network has renewed the medical drama starring Molly Parker for a third season in 2026-27. The pickup follows the renewal last week for Fox’s other medical show — and Doc’s Tuesday night lead-in — Best Medicine.
As is the case with the current run of Doc, Fox has ordered an old-school full season of 22 episodes for season three.
“Doc has become a true breakout for Fox, delivering our largest scripted multiplatform audience of the season and building remarkable momentum across Fox, Hulu, Netflix, and internationally — earning it another 22-episode order,” said Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn. “That success is a testament to the exceptional creative leadership of [showrunners] Hank Steinberg and Barbie Kligman, our terrific partners at Sony, and the talented Molly Parker, whose deeply nuanced performance gives the series its soul.”
Along with Parker, the series stars Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, Charlotte Fountain-Jardim and Felicity Huffman.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Rob Wade, Michael Thorn, and their amazing teams at Fox,” said Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope. “This milestone highlights Doc’s compelling storytelling and standout performances that have resonated with audiences globally. We’re incredibly proud of the exceptional writing from Hank and Barbie, and of Molly Parker’s powerful, nuanced performance at the center of the series. We look forward to building on the show’s continued success in the seasons ahead.”
Doc is averaging 7.3 million multi-platform viewers so far this season (as of Jan. 27), three times the average for its first on-air showing (2.35 million). The season’s first 11 episodes all rank among the network’s top 20 multi-platform telecasts this season (excluding live sports), based on a week of viewing.
Based on an Italian series, Doc is produced by Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. Kligman and Steinberg are the showrunners and executive produce with Erwin Stoff, Russell Fine, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Carol Barbee and David Foster.
