Elaine Hendrix Shares Update on Injury, ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Future

Elaine Hendrix is “up and about” but still “tender” and “sore” after suffering an injury during rehearsals for Dancing With the Stars, having to be carried out on a stretcher.

The Parent Trap alum also indicated she’s looking forward to dancing again and returning to the ABC reality show.

Hendrix updated people on her condition via an Instagram video Wednesday night alongside her pro partner Alan Bersten.

“I am starting pain management today,” Hendrix said before offering an update on her dance future. “I’m not dancing today, I’m not dancing tomorrow. We’ll be back at it Friday. And I’m just getting ready to be in that ballroom next Tuesday.”

Bersten thanked fans for their support for Hendrix and their team. “We can feel it and we appreciate it so much,” he said.

She added, “Yeah, it’s palpable. All of your messages, I’m seeing it all, and I just want you to know that first and foremost, I’m okay, and second of all, I’m ready to go and just thank you so much for all the love and support that you’re showing and thank you to the entire Dancing with the Stars team. You’re taking such good care of me. So we will see you next Tuesday out on the ballroom.”

The post also featured looks at Hendrix’s planned Mad Max: Fury Road costume for the show’s Halloween episode this past Tuesday.

Bersten revealed that “something happened with [Hendrix’s] rib” during rehearsals on Tuesday morning. She was carried off the ballroom floor in a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. But host Alfonso Ribeiro said doctors cleared her to stay in the competition if she survived Tuesday’s elimination, which she and Bersten did.

More to come.
