Ellen DeGeneres Ditches Signature Blonde Hair as She’s Spotted at British Pub Post Move: See Her Shocking New Look
Ellen DeGeneres is making some changes.
The former talk show host, 66, recently relocated to the English countryside and, according to a new video, has switched up her look to mark the new chapter.
In a Nov. 13 joint Instagram post from British pub The Farmer’s Dog and singer-songwriter Natalie Imbruglia, DeGeneres can be seen enjoying an intimate live music performance alongside her wife, Portia de Rossi, and friends.
The clip shows Imbruglia and friends singing along to the music before it pans to DeGeneres and de Rossi, 51, who wave to the camera. Instead of her signature platinum blonde hair, the comedian appears to be rocking a shorter, darker look.
On. Nov. 21, PEOPLE confirmed that DeGeneres, whose long-running eponymous series ended in May 2022, had moved to the celeb-favorite Cotswolds region.
“Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October,” a source told PEOPLE. “She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”
Of the outing at The Farmer’s Dog, which is owned by the English TV presenter and journalist Jeremy Clarkson in the Cotswolds, the source shared, “They hung out with [Clarkson’s partner, actress] Lisa Hogan and James Blunt, and The Corrs performed at the pub.” A representative for DeGeneres did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
DeGeneres’ lifestyle change comes two years afterThe Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired for 19 seasons, aired its final episode in May 2022. The show came to a close following toxic workplace accusations made against the host in 2020.
In her July 2024 Netflix comedy special, “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up” tour, DeGeneres addressed the controversy and announced her departure from show business.
“Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me,” she said. “I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”
She later said she would not return to fame, declaring, “This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”
