Enrique Iglesias’ 3 Kids: All About Lucy, Nicholas and Mary
Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova have kept their decades-long relationship out of the spotlight, including their three children.
The couple had twins, Lucy and Nicholas, in December 2017, and welcomed their daughter Mary in January 2020. Since becoming parents, Iglesias and Kournikova have continued their low-key lifestyle, but occasionally share snippets of their family on social media.
In 2011, 10 years after meeting the Spanish singer on the set of his music video, Kournikova told Women’s Health that she saw motherhood in her future.
“I absolutely want to have children, whether I have my own or adopt,” the former tennis pro said. “I love taking care of people.”
In a 2007 interview with PEOPLE en Español, Iglesias said, “The only thing I can say is that, in my opinion, Anna, whether we are together or not, would be an ideal mother.”
The arrival of Iglesias and Kournikova’s twins in 2017 came as a surprise because the couple kept the pregnancy a secret from the public. Four months after giving birth, Kournikova shared her first baby bump photo on Instagram with the caption, “#tbt #37weeks.”
“I saw her cute belly,” a source told PEOPLE after it was reported that Iglesias and Kournikova had welcomed twins. “A friend told me like five months ago [that] they were pregnant but keeping it very, very undercover.”
Kournikova’s pregnancy with the couple’s third child, Mary, was similarly kept under wraps, with both parents announcing her birth a couple of weeks later via hospital photos posted on Instagram.
A few months after welcoming his first kids, the twins, Iglesias gushed about fatherhood onstage at a concert in Budapest. “I became a father 12 weeks ago and I can absolutely tell you two things: I love my babies! I love them very much,” the pop star said.
Here is everything to know about Enrique Iglesias’ three kids, Lucy, Nicholas and Mary.
Lucy Iglesias, 7
Iglesias and Kournikova welcomed Lucy on Dec. 16, 2017, in Miami along with her twin brother, Nicholas. Iglesias and Kournikova shared their babies’ first photos on Instagram the following year, showing the twins wearing gray onesies and snuggling up with their parents.
“My Sunshine,” Iglesias captioned his photo, later sharing an adorable video of himself kissing one of the babies.
In September 2019, the singer posted a video clip of himself and then-21-month-old Lucy dancing to “The Wheels on the Bus,” while Kournikova sang along in the background. The father and daughter went through the motions of the dance together and, at one point, Iglesias swung Lucy around by her arms as she smiled.
A few months earlier, Iglesias let fans in on his goofy dad side. Alongside a video of the star making silly movements while the twins giggled at him, he jokingly wrote, “Three children in this video.”
Nicholas Iglesias, 7
Nicholas was born to Iglesias and Kournikova on Dec. 16, 2017, in Miami along with his twin sister, Lucy.
In April 2019, Iglesias shared a video of himself and Nicholas having a “serious talk,” in which the toddler walked around their house attempting to imitate his father’s noises.
A few months later, the singer posted a video of 18-month-old Nicholas enjoying a boat ride. In the clip, Nicholas wore a wide-brimmed straw hat and Cars T-shirt and looked out the window exclaiming, “Wawa!” while pointing at the water.
In a December 2023 interview with Today, Iglesias revealed that although his kids have not attended one of his concerts yet, Nicholas is starting to understand his star power.
“My son, when he saw me at rehearsal, it was like, ‘What?!’ Because he’s seen a lot of music videos and videos on stage of me performing, but to be able to see it in person, the production and lights, it’s like, ‘Oh my God,’ ” Iglesias said. “He was like watching an alien or UFO, in a good way. He was amazed.”
Mary Iglesias, 4
Iglesias and Kournikova welcomed their third child, daughter Mary, on Jan. 30, 2020. The couple announced the birth by sharing hospital pictures on Instagram with the matching caption: “My Sunshine.”
Five weeks after her birth, Iglesias revealed his newborn daughter’s name: Mary, or Masha in Russian, which her mother speaks.
Iglesias told PEOPLE that the transition of his twins Lucy and Nicholas, who were 2 at the time, to the role of older siblings had gone “very smoothly.”
“They actually love it,” he said. “There’s a two-year difference, so I was a little scared. I was like, ‘How are they going to react?’ And I have two dogs so my house is chaotic. When we first came home with Masha, I was like, ‘Oh, how is everybody going to react?’ ”
Iglesias has shared snippets of his sweet bond with Mary on social media, including an adorable video of him dancing with the then-2-month-old and another of the then-19-month-old smiling and bouncing along to the singer’s newest album.
Kournikova may want Mary to inherit her tennis prowess along with her father’s musical talent, too. In September 2020, Kournikova posted a photo of her youngest daughter in a tennis-appropriate outfit. In the caption, she wrote, “Wimbledon, here I come … 😍.”
Speaking to Today in December 2023, Iglesias revealed that Mary has become a fan of his songs.
“Whenever I go to pick her up at school, I pick up all of them, and she’s always the one that starts singing ‘I Like It’ a lot of times,” Iglesias said. “And then they all start singing it together. It’s the cutest thing ever. That’s her favorite song.”
