Exploring the Lives of Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart’s Daughters: A Closer Look at Billie and Georgia

Actor Eric Dane is truly devoted to his two daughters, Billie Beatrice Dane and Georgia Geraldine Dane.
The Grey’s Anatomy star embraced fatherhood for the first time when he welcomed his daughter Billie in March 2010 with his wife, Rebecca Gayheart. They completed their family in December 2011 with the arrival of their second daughter, Georgia.
“I never had a family, and now I do,” Eric expressed about his daughters. “I know I’m a very lucky guy.”
Eric and Gayheart eventually parted ways in 2018, with the actress filing for divorce that same year, citing irreconcilable differences.
“After 14 years together, we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family,” Eric stated in a public announcement. “We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls, as they are the most important thing in the world to us.”
The couple successfully co-parented for seven years before Gayheart requested to dismiss her divorce from Eric in March 2025.
In April of that year, Eric revealed his diagnosis of ALS in a heartfelt statement. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” he shared.
Here’s everything you need to know about Eric Dane’s daughters, Billie and Georgia.

Eric and Gayheart welcomed their first child, daughter Billie Beatrice Dane, on March 3, 2010.
Before her birth, the couple announced their plans to start a family in September 2009. The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actress proudly displayed her baby bump during a public outing, and a source revealed they were “definitely happy” about the pregnancy after “trying for so long.”
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres a month before Billie’s arrival, Eric shared his delivery room plans: “I’ll be in the room. I’m going to stay close to my wife and make sure that she is all right. I’m really excited. I’m also very interested.”
He playfully hinted that their daughter’s name would be “straight down the middle” between unusual and traditional.
Once Billie was born, her name was announced, and years later, Eric explained on Harry Connick Jr.’s talk show how they chose it. “[Billie’s] named after my father. … Whether it was a boy or a girl, the firstborn was gonna be a Billie,” he said.
From the start, Billie exhibited a flair for the dramatic. “She knows how to steal the spotlight,” Gayheart remarked in 2012, noting that it’s a trait she inherited from her dad.
“She is a spitfire,” Gayheart added about the then-2½-year-old. “We call her my spirited, challenging child ’cause she’s just full of fire … Everyone thinks she’s 4 … having full-on conversations and taking over her preschool.”
That passion for the limelight has only grown: Billie is now a model and dancer.
“Congratulations Billie on a BEAUTIFUL dance showcase today #proudmom,” Gayheart proudly captioned an Instagram post of her daughter holding flowers in December 2021.
Billie occasionally joins both parents on the red carpet. In 2022, she attended the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Brentwood, California, with her mom. Two years later, she supported her father at the premiere of Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
When it comes to her dad’s work, Billie and Georgia have watched “every episode” of Grey’s Anatomy, in which Eric starred from seasons 3 to 9. “They’ve watched everything,” he shared on Live with Kelly and Mark in 2024, adding that they’ll “never” stream Euphoria.
Billie graduated from middle school in June 2024, and her mom celebrated the achievement with a sweet post on Instagram.
“I know you are more than ready for this next chapter,” Gayheart wrote. “I have watched you juggle school, ballet, and life with tenacity, grace, and humor. You’re as beautiful inside as you are on the outside. I’m beyond proud of you Billie and love you 4ever and always.”
**Georgia Geraldine Dane, 13**
Eric and Gayheart celebrated the arrival of their second child, Georgia Geraldine Dane, on December 28, 2011.
“Rebecca Gayheart and husband Eric Dane welcomed Georgia Geraldine Dane on Dec. 28, just in time for the New Year!” a representative announced. “Both mom and baby girl are happy and healthy, Billie is thrilled to be a big sister, and dad is preparing to live in a house full of ladies!”
Almost a year later, Gayheart couldn’t help but rave about her “little Buddha baby,” sharing with pride, “She’s sweet and happy all the time. She truly is just the sweetest baby on the planet.”
The actress added, “She sleeps well. She eats well. She’s a gift.”
Speaking before Georgia’s birth, Gayheart mentioned that this pregnancy felt less stressful than the first because Billie kept her occupied.
“What’s made it different is that I’m very focused on Billie … so I’m not very focused on [the pregnancy]. I’m not as neurotic,” she explained. “[With Billie] I was micromanaging everything I was eating and every little symptom I was feeling. And this pregnancy I just know everything’s okay.”
While she heard that having two kids was “very challenging,” Gayheart and Eric were ready for it. “Eventually it’s going to be great because they’re going to be very close in age and hopefully very close,” she said.
These days, Georgia is an athletic kid who enjoys playing volleyball. In 2024, Gayheart shared a video on her Instagram Stories of her younger daughter excelling on the court, captioned, “Go Georgia!”
By all accounts, she has retained her carefree spirit as she has grown. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gayheart provided insight into her daughter’s positive mindset at the beginning of lockdown.
“She is the only one in the family who is thriving and not just surviving,” the actress wrote on Instagram in April 2020. “She loves being home and finds the joy in most everything she does. I’m so thankful for this kid!”
In an August 2024 interview, Eric shared a memorable moment with Georgia after she started watching Grey’s Anatomy.
“My 12-year-old, when she started watching it a couple of years ago, looked at me and said, ‘Dad, where did your abs go?’ She was serious. She wasn’t making a joke,” he recalled.
