Erin and Ben Napier Surprise Teacher and Single Mom with a Home Makeover — See the Tearjerking Moment (Exclusive)

Erin and Ben Napier are giving a single mom and dedicated teacher the surprise of a lifetime on Home Town Takeover!
The third season of the HGTV show finds the designer and carpenter couple in Sebring, Fla. — a small town the Napiers are helping bring back to life. In the exclusive PEOPLE clip above from the upcoming March 30 episode, the Napiers inform Ms. Allen that she’s receiving a home makeover, and the teacher has an emotional response.
Ms. Allen is clearly surprised when the Napiers greet her at her school. “Do you want to come in and sit down?” she asks, to which Ben replies, “No, we’ve got work to do.” The teacher breaks down in tears when Erin confirms that they are heading to Ms. Allen’s home for the makeover.
The teacher explains to the HGTV couple that her home has a significant meaning.
“A lot of people, even in the area that I live in … wouldn’t say that’s where they want to live. But that’s my home for me and my kids, and I take pride in that,” Ms. Allen says between tears. “Being a single parent myself gets overwhelming sometimes. But that’s what keeps me going is my babies. I’m thankful for my home and the opportunity for y’all to come and make it better because it’s a home to us.”
The new episode of the show will also feature HGTV’s Sarah and Bryan Baeumler assisting with an update to Sebring’s historic Circle Theatre.
The third season of Home Town Takeover premiered on March 9 and will run for six episodes.
Erin and Ben told PEOPLE that they vacationed in Florida while growing up in Mississippi. Referring to Sebring as “the forgotten Florida,” Ben added, “It’s the vacation land that Erin and I like to visit because it’s old vacation. It’s the kind of vacation that our grandparents went on.”
The couple brought their daughters, Helen, 7, and Mae, 4, along for Season 3 since they spent so long filming in the town.
“We rented a house on the lake and every day when we would come home, we would either all go sit on the pier or wade out into the water,” Erin said. “The girls would play in the sand, and they felt like we were on vacation. They didn’t know any different.”
The new episode of Home Town Takeover airs Sunday, March 30, at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV.
