Dakota Johnson Makes Surprise Cameo in Lily Allen’s “Madeline” Performance on ‘SNL’

Dakota Johnson made a surprise appearance on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live as the mistress in Lily Allen‘s song “Madeline.”
Allen performed the popular track from her new album, West End Girl, which centers on the narrator confronting her husband’s mistress, named Madeline. The singer has previously said the album was inspired by her marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, which reportedly ended earlier this year.
“We had an arrangement / Be discreet and don’t be blatant / There had to be payment / It had to be with strangers / But you’re not a stranger, Madeline,” Allen sang to the audience in Studio 8H before Johnson, as Madeline, explained her side of the story via texts she sent to the singer.
“Hey, he is telling you the truth. Our relationship has only ever been about sex. I can promise you that this is not an emotional connection. We don’t speak outside the time we spend together. And whenever he talks about you, it’s with the utmost respect,” Johnson’s Madeline said at first.
Allen continued singing, with Johnson still behind a sheer curtain on stage, appearing to be lying on a bed and texting on a cellphone.
“I hate that you’re in so much pain right now,” Johnson’s Madeline added on SNL. “I really don’t wanna be the cause of any upset. He told me that you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent. If he’s lying about that, then please let me know. Because I have my own feelings about dishonesty. Lies are not something that I wanna get caught up in.”
“You can reach out to me any time, by the way. If you need any more details or you just need to vent or anything. Love and light, Madeline,” she concluded, eventually revealing herself from behind the curtain and kissing Allen on the cheek.

Elsewhere during Saturday’s SNL episode, host Josh O’Connor cleared up rumors about him potentially starring in a live-action Ratatouille movie and more.
