Finneas O’Connell to Score ‘Beef’ Season 2

Finneas O’Connell will score season two of Netflix‘s Beef, the streamer and the anthology series’ studio A24 jointly announced on Thursday.

“Spent the last 12 months in Beef land. All eight episodes out April 16, all original music by me,” O’Connell said in a statement. “Very grateful to Sonny for involving me, very grateful for the incredible performances from the entire cast; I probably watched every scene 100 times while I scored the show and I felt it every time. True fan of this show, very honored and proud to be a part of it.”

“Sonny” here refers to Beef creator and showrunner Lee Sung Jin, who is also known as Sonny Lee.

O’Connell is, of course, a very accomplished singer, songwriter, producer and composer, with two Oscars and 11 Grammy Awards already under his belt. To Billie Eilish, he is also big brother (and a regular collaborator).

“Finneas is the brilliant mind behind most of the music that has soundtracked my personal life over the last decade, so it’s an absolute honor to collaborate with him on the new season,” Lee Sung Jin said in a statement of his own. “He has an incredible ability to make the darkest emotions sound so achingly beautiful, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear what he’s cooked up.”

Beef season two sees newly-engaged couple Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton), both low-level staffers at a country club, “become entangled in the unraveling marriage of their general manager … and his wife,” the sophomore season synopsis reads. That would be Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac) and Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan), respectively.

“Through favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho),” the description continues.

Seoyeon Jang also stars on season two with William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover and the Korean rapper BM.

Season one stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong and season two stars Mulligan, Isaac, Melton and Spaeny executive produce alongside Lee Sung Jin, director Jake Schreier, Anna Moench, Kitao Sakurai and Ethan Kuperberg.

All eight episodes of A24’s Beef season two launch on April 16, 2026 on Netflix — but Finneas already said that.
