George Clooney celebrated his 64th birthday on the Broadway stage.
The Oscar winner, who turned 64 on Tuesday, May 6, was photographed with a smile on his face after he performed in Good Night, and Good Luck at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. The actor shook hands with fans gathered outside the theater’s stage door and signed autographs after the birthday night performance, which came days after the star received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his Broadway debut.
Clooney wore a black leather jacket, brown slacks, sunglasses and a white ball cap, which hid the black hair that Clooney has dyed to accurately embody 20th century journalist Edward R. Murrow on the stage.
He is nominated at the upcoming 78th Tony Awards alongside Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!), Jon Michael Hill (Purpose), Daniel Dae Kim (Yellow Face), Harry Lennix (Purpose) and Louis McCartney (Stranger Things: The First Shadow).

Clooney’s Broadway run comes as he enjoys another career high more than 10 years into his marriage to wife Amal Clooney, whom he shares twins Alexander and Ella with; the twins turn 8 years old on June 6.
After Clooney starred in and produced last year’s Wolfs opposite longtime friend and costa Brad Pitt, he will next appear on the big screen in Netflix’s Jay Kelly, which releases in theaters Nov. 14 and begins streaming on Netflix Dec. 5. The new movie from filmmaker Noah Baumbach also stars Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, and Billy Crudup. Netflix released a first image of Clooney in the film on his birthday along with a tagline that reads: “Everybody knows Jay Kelly, but Jay Kelly doesn’t know himself.”
