‘Good Place’ Alumni Andrew Law, Matt Murray and Mike Schur Set Animated Series ‘Dang!’ at Netflix

Netflix is adding to its adult animation roster with a series from several members of the creative team behind The Good Place.

Andrew Law and Matt Murray are the creators of Dang!, which will follow three adult siblings in New York. They’ll serve as showrunners and executive produce with (among others) Mike Schur, who was involved in the show’s development. The three worked together on The Good Place; Law’s writing credits also include Hacks, Silicon Valley and Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Murray has been a writer and producer on Parks and Recreation, Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, among other shows.

Law will voice one of the lead roles alongside Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) and Poppy Liu (Hacks, No Good Deed). Dang! will follow a brother and sister (Law and Liu) “whose fun, messy lives in New York City are interrupted when their worst nightmare comes true: their high-achieving older sister (Hsu) shows up and wants to hang out with them,” the show’s logline reads.

“Mike Schur, Andrew Law, and Matt Murray are experts in finding the heart and hilarity in the most complex relationships. With DANG!, they tackle the relatable chaos of sibling rivalry, brought to life by the undeniable chemistry of Andrew Law, Poppy Liu, and Stephanie Hsu,” said John Derderian, vp animation series and kids & family TV at Netflix. “As the home for the best creators and adult animated series, we’re thrilled to bring this incredible team and new show to our global audience.”

Universal Television, where Schur has an overall deal, is producing Dang!, and Titmouse is the animation studio. Law and Murray are the showrunners and executive produce with Schur, Alan Yang, David Miner of 3Arts Entertainment and Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina and Antonio Canobbio.

“We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Netflix, Universal Television, and Titmouse on Dang!,” said Law. “We hope that you fall in love with these characters. Or at least find them very, very attractive. Sexually.”
