Harry Connick Jr.’s 3 Daughters: All About Georgia, Kate and Charlotte
Harry Connick Jr. is a talented actor, singer and musician, but he’s most proud of being a dad to his daughters: Georgia, Kate and Charlotte.
The Find Me Falling star shares his three children with his wife, former Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre. The couple, who met by chance at a hotel pool, got married in 1994, and two years later, they welcomed their firstborn, Georgia Tatom Connick. The following year, they welcomed a second daughter, Sarah Kate Connick, who goes by Kate, and in 2002, their youngest daughter, Charlotte Connick, was born.
“For me, it’s really like my family is first,” Harry told WHO magazine in 2023, sharing how proud he is of his kids. “They’re brilliant, driven, really, really smart, creative women. And our lives have become exponentially greater as a result of the perspective we’ve gained from them.”
Whether they’re going to the beach or staying home to play board games, the Connick family is big on quality time.
“We love being together,” Harry told PEOPLE in 2019, adding that they try to hang out whenever possible. “I loved them when they were infants and toddlers and preschoolers all the way up through now. It just keeps getting better.”
Here’s everything to know about Harry Connick Jr.’s daughters: Georgia, Kate and Charlotte.
Georgia Tatom Connick, 28
Harry and Jill welcomed their first daughter, Georgia Tatom Connick, on April 17, 1996.
Although she was born in New York, Georgia grew up in New Canaan, a small town in Connecticut. According to Harry, he and Jill wanted to raise their kids away from the spotlight and give them a normal upbringing.
“We like the fact that it’s a pretty laid-back life here,” he told PEOPLE in 2013. “We can just be home. There’s no scene. We can just live our lives and not really deal with the industry.”
Still, having two famous parents wasn’t always easy to navigate. “It was difficult. I’m not going to lie and say it wasn’t,” Georgia told WHO magazine in 2023. “I think people can have a certain view of you before meeting.”
“But I think my parents have taught us so much,” she continued. “To treat people like they don’t know you at all, so you can give them the best version of yourself. And to treat everyone with respect and just hope that they can see us as we see ourselves.”
After graduating high school in 2015, Georgia moved to New Orleans, her dad’s hometown, where she enrolled at Tulane University. She stayed there for a year before transferring to New York University to study film at the Tisch School of the Arts.
Now Georgia is following in her mom and dad’s footsteps — she’s currently signed with Otto Models Agency and is building her career as a video editor and filmmaker, according to her LinkedIn.
In fact, she worked with Harry on his 2021 album, Alone With My Faith. She shot and directed the album cover along with the music video for “Amazing Grace.”
“As a father, it was amazing,” Harry told Billboard of working with his daughter. “And as an artist, to collaborate with — well, first of all, to collaborate with anyone during the pandemic was a thrill, but to collaborate with someone as brilliant and artistically full of life as Georgia was really awesome.”
Sarah Kate Connick, 27
Harry and Jill expanded their family with the birth of their second daughter, Sarah Kate Connick, who goes by her middle name, on Sept. 12, 1997.
Like her older sister, Kate was raised in Connecticut, but the family spent a lot of time in New Orleans, Harry’s hometown.
“New Orleans is a very special place to me, unlike any other city in the world,” she told New York Lifestyles Magazine in 2019. “I’m honored to have a connection to such a unique place. I’m particularly fond of the food, music, and especially the people. Everyone’s so kind and lively.”
After high school, Kate went to Furman University in South Carolina, where she played lacrosse. However, after she tore her ACL, she took a gap year before ultimately choosing to study fashion and design at NYU.
As Jill’s daughter, it’s not surprising that Kate is a model, but she’s also a talented designer. In 2019, she launched her own clothing line, Kate Connick Clothing, and two years later, she was featured on the cover of New Canaan, Darien + Rowayton magazine, where she spoke in-depth about her creative passion.
“I’m really an entrepreneur at heart. But I love to do so many things,” Kate shared. “My parents have been so supportive of everything I do. They push me but also encourage me to stay confident. They’re my guides, my mentors.”
She also credited her mom for sparking her interest in the fashion industry. “My mom inspires me so much and she is the reason I went into modeling,” she said, adding, “My dad … I can ask him anything and I go to him for literally everything.”
Being the daughter of two celebrities comes with its fair share of pressure, but for Kate, that only pushed her to work harder to create a name for herself.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have them as my parents,” she told New York Lifestyles Magazine. “They are supermodels, literally. Their drive, creativity, energy, intelligence and lovingness inspires me to grow and take on whatever goals I have.”
Kate went on to express her appreciation for the way she was raised. “I respect my parents for providing a safe and loving home for my sisters and I to grow up in and for always encouraging us to speak up and do the right thing,” she concluded.
Charlotte Connick, 22
Harry and Jill’s youngest daughter, Charlotte Connick, was born on June 26, 2002.
Like the rest of the Connick family, she’s taken an interest in the arts: As a child, she appeared in a small role alongside her dad in Dolphin Tale. After high school, she studied at Savannah College of Art and Design and is now an artist and actress.
“It’s definitely in our blood,” she told WHO magazine about the decision to pursue a creative career. Still, Harry was mindful about not pushing his kids to follow in his footsteps.
“The main thing for Jill and for me when they were little is to raise these smart, incredible women, and I really could care less what they choose [to do in life],” he said. “It’s like, if they date somebody … whoever they end up bringing home to marry is somebody that we’re going to fall in love with, because that’s who they love. So that’s how we roll.”
In a 2019 interview with PEOPLE, Harry expanded on his thoughts about his daughters’ romantic lives, saying he and Jill raised them to “understand self-worth.”
“When they understand self-worth, the people that come into view — the amount of people — are lessened, because you have high standards,” he said. “You only attract people that have a big ‘Yes’ on their chest. And those are the kinds of men that I would have no reason to be intimidated by or not like.”
The trusting relationship between Harry and his daughters was especially apparent in 2022 when Charlotte posted a sweet tribute to her dad for his birthday.
“Your light shines brighter than anyone I’ve ever known. Your encouragement and endless support makes me confident with being myself, and inspires me to be better,” she wrote alongside a photo of Harry and her mom.
Charlotte continued, “Thank you for being who you are. Your humor, smile, and energy is infectious. I am forever blessed to be your daughter, and for you to be my best friend. I love you.”
