Henry Winkler had a few words of wisdom for Jimmy Kimmel about becoming a grandparent.

During the Wednesday, May 21 episode of Live with Jimmy Kimmel!, the proud grandfather of seven, 79, brought a gift for Kimmel, 57, after the talk show host welcomed his first grandchild, Patti Joan, earlier this week.

“Okay so this is for Patti,” Winkler said, pushing a pink present towards Kimmel.

“Oh this is for my new granddaughter!” Kimmel replied. “Oh how nice, thank you!”

Winkler then joked, “She needs the first season of Happy Days.”

Winkler then revealed that he really did bring along the first season of his hit television show, but he also brought Kimmel a copy of his children’s book Detective Duck, which the actor slid across the table to Kimmel.

Later, Kimmel told Winkler that he seems like a great grandfather.

“I like being a grandfather,” Winkler shared. “Apparently, you do too. But you really feel great, don’t you?”

“You know, I’ve only been a grandfather for a couple of days, but I feel like I’m going to enjoy it,” Kimmel said. “People approach me in a weird way. They’re like, ‘Oh, how are you feeling about this?’ Like I’m feeling good, what am I, an a——?”

“No but it’s a great relationship. It’s a great feeling,” Winkler added. “Yeah, I liked my grandparents a lot,” Kimmel said.

“Unfortunately, I never had a grandparent. They were all taken by the Nazis. So I thought, ‘Ooh, now I get to be the grandfather I never had,’ ” Winkler explained.

Kimmel then asked the legendary actor for advice on being a good grandfather.

“Do you know what I find? I find listening,” Winkler said. “You know, I spoil them with…it’s not the amount of time, it’s the quality of the time that you are spending.”

Jimmy Kimmel, Katie Kimmel

Kimmel announced he had officially became a grandfather after his daughter Katie welcomed her first baby — a girl — with husband Will Logsdon.

Their happy news was shared by Kimmel on Tuesday, May 20, during his talk show’s opening monologue. “The baby’s very healthy,” he said, before revealing his granddaughter’s name.

“Her name, they gave her a very cute name. Her name is Melania,” he joked, adding, “It’s Melania Thee Stallion…”

He went on to share his granddaughter’s real name: Patti Joan.
