“Because I feel like they’re just in this place where they’re recognizing so many new things,” she continues. “And it’s gotta be really overwhelming to have everything that you see is new.”

“And even your emotions that come with it, and not having your brain fully developed. So when you want something, you just want it, you don’t have logical thinking skills. So to me, teachable twos is, I think, more fitting.”

As for how she approaches those toddler tantrums, Swank shares that she just tries to stay zen.

“My thing is, I think it’s really important to regulate yourself and just stay calm and hold space for them,” the mom of two explains.

In April, Swank spoke with Women’s Health for their Spring 2025 issue and opened up about how she’s “bouncing forward” and honoring her body after welcoming her two little ones at age 48.

“In being a new mom, a lot of people talk about bouncing back, but I call it bouncing forward, because I don’t want my old body anymore,” she told the outlet. “I love that this was the body that housed and grew these two incredible human beings.”

“And, I want to honor my new body and not try and get something that was,” added Swank. “I want to move forward from here and just honor my body and thank my body for what it achieved.”
