‘House of the Dragon’ Star Fabien Frankel Launches Production House With Brother Max (Exclusive)

House of the Dragon star Fabien Frankel and brother Max Mark Frankel have launched film and TV production house MarcelMonique Pictures, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal.

“Ever since I can remember, my brother and I have loved cinema,” Fabien Frankel told THR. “It was what held us together as kids and allowed our imaginations to run free. I’m so proud to be starting the production company with Max.”

The English actor continued: “Marcel and Monique are our grandparents’ names. Our granddad loved movies and he passed that onto our mum and she passed that onto us, so this feels pretty special.”

The brothers’ first project, released last year, was music video Wife Once from band Memory of Speke. The video earned MarcelMonique a Camerimage Festival nomination alongside Ed Sheeran’s Page, Lenny Kravitz’s TK421, Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please and Taylor Swift‘s Fortnight. Since then, the creative duo have also secured a Berlin Music Video Award nomination.

Up next on their list is partnering with musician Peter Zummo to produce a music video for The Tape Is Chill, financed by British fragrance brand Penhaligon’s. The video is slated for release this month.

Committed to creating high-quality content and providing opportunities for up-and-coming talent, the Frankel brothers are also currently in development on several short films as well as a feature script.

Fabien Frankel is best known to viewers as Ser Criston Cole in HBO’s award-winning Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon opposite Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke. The third installment of the show is set to premiere next summer. His other credits include Netflix’s The Serpent, festive romantic comedy Last Christmas and Jamie Adams’ Venice at Dawn.

London-based producer Max Mark Frankel has worked on shorts A Minor Intervention and Lag, as well as Freddie Fox’s The Painting & the Statue. His recent work also includes Rick Gomez’s She Dances with Ethan Hawke, Steve Zahn and Rosemarie Dewitt, and Our Hero Balthazar with Asa Butterfield and Jaeden Martell, both of which are premiering at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
