Inside the Star-Studded F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

Las Vegas is already known for its glitz and glamour, but add the roaring sounds of race cars, the best drivers in the world, dozens of celebrities and thousands of fans to the mix, and the vibes get elevated to the max.

For the third year running, Las Vegas hosted the 22nd round of the 2025 Formula 1 season. And after the box office success of the F1 movie earlier this year, the city prepared for fans to arrive in masses, despite the wet weather on Friday. But thankfully, the rain cleared up just in time for the main event Saturday night.

Read on for an inside look at the events and action that took place around Sin City over race weekend, including the exhilarating vibes at the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere.

Las Vegas GP Festivities Kicked Off Early

Heading into the Las Vegas race, the drivers arrived early for festivities and events leading up to the thrilling weekend ahead.

The Hollywood Reporter got to chat with Isack Hadjar, who races for the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team, about his progress throughout his rookie season, his proudest moments so far, future goals and more. “I feel like I’ve delivered more than enough as a rookie, and I did set myself very high expectations, which I achieved, so now I’m quite happy,” he said prior to the race.

On Tuesday, McLaren driver Lando Norris also stopped by the T-Mobile Signature Store for a fan meet-and-greet, as T-Mobile is the exclusive 5G partner for McLaren in the U.S. The store also featured immersive activations, including a driving simulator. T-Mobile has also expanded as the 5G Innovation Partner of F1 in North America.

A-Listers Came to Play and Watch

There’s no doubt the stars were out and about in Vegas this weekend, taking in everything the city and F1 race had to offer.

Among the dozens of celebrities spotted throughout the weekend were Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Affleck, Terry Crews, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jeremy Renner, Madelaine Petsch, Travis Scott, Mark Wahlberg, Damson Idris, Paris Hilton, Noah Beck, Gavin Casalegno and many more. Some, such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Scott, even got to hit high speeds during hot laps around the track, being driven by none other than seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Before the lights went out on Saturday night for race day, celebrities were also popping into pre-race events happening around the city, including People and InStyle’s Drive-By Party for a qualifying-night celebration at Lavo on Friday. Tiffany Haddish, Paul Wesley, Dylan Barbour, Hannah Godwin, Tyler Posey, Jesse Metcalfe, Joey Graziadei, Evan Ross and Ali Carter were among those in attendance.

Posey was particularly excited as it was his first F1 race he got to watch in person. “I’m a big fan of anything with a motor,” the Teen Wolf alum told THR on the red carpet. “I build motorcycles and I ride a lot of motorcycles, and there’s just something about being in this atmosphere that I think is really exciting. And also being in Vegas, it creates such a different sort of driving atmosphere for these drivers.”

Haddish also told THR she was looking forward to seeing how fast the cars speed down the Strip. “You can feel the vibes, and it’s a good feeling,” she said. “It’s a lot of horsepower.”

Entertainment and Music Brought Elevated Vibes

At the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere, a wide range of performers hit the stage when action wasn’t happening on the track. Zedd, Cassian, Balu Brugada, Lauv, MGK, Cimefunk, Sofi Tucker and T-Pain all gave electric performances, with the latter singing plenty of hits, from “All I Do Is Win” to “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper).”

Fans in the main grandstand, skybox and Paddock Club also got to rock out to other performances on the Grid, including Louis Tomlinson, Kane Brown, VAVO, DJ Pee .Wee, Steve Aoki and Kaskade.

Drivers Delivered Plenty of On-Track Action

Once the performances wrapped up, fans and celebrities took their seats for the weekend’s main event Saturday night. After Norris — who’s currently leading the 2025 World Drivers’ Championship — was in the pole position during qualifying the night before, it was bound to be an invigorating race with Max Verstappen, a Red Bull Racing driver and the reigning F1 World Champion, starting right behind in second position.

After some intense on-track battles between the 20 drivers across the 50 laps of the Vegas circuit, Verstappen ultimately claimed the top prize, with Norris placing second and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team driver George Russell coming in third. However, Norris and Oscar Piastri, who also drives for McLaren and finished in fourth place, were later disqualified for excessive skid block wear on their cars, bringing Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli up to third place.
