Jenna Bush Hager is passing down a very important skill to her kids.
On a Monday, May 12, episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, the proud mom shared with guest co-host Erin Andrews that she’d spent the weekend celebrating her husband Henry Hager’s 47th birthday.
“We had so much fun. We celebrated my husband turning 47. A big year. We dressed up like this. I’m a cougar,” Bush Hager says, showing off a photo she’d posted to Instagram. “Mila picked my outfit.”

“Mila was…we used to do this during COVID. We’d have theme nights,” she says. “My cousin was like, ‘You’re telling me that was just with your kids?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ Mila was like, ‘Let’s make it a costume party.’”
Bush Hager shares her daughters Mila, 13, and Poppy, 9, as well as son Hal, 5, with her husband.
“What was your husband dressed up as?” asks Andrews.
“He was Uncle Sam, but he had a Willie Nelson T-shirt underneath. And then my kids…Hal was a dinosaur,” Bush Hager explains. “But we had so much fun! And then we all went out, it was raining and they put on their bathing suits and we danced in the rain.”
Andrews replies that her family seems like the typical “all-American” family as they’re celebrating together and dancing in the rain.
“Well, I’m teaching them the skill of partying,” says Bush Hager. “And that’s what I can bring to the table.”
Earlier this week, Bush Hager gave a glimpse into how she spent Mother’s Day with her family of five, which included a luxurious breakfast in bed.
The proud mom shared a photo of her meal on her Instagram Stories, which featured heart-shaped waffles with chocolate sauce, and a sweet message written in the sauce. “We ❤️ Mom,” read the message.
Bush Hager also included a black-and-white photo of herself and her kids as they posed together outside. “My wolf pack,” she wrote across the photo.
