Jennie’s Debut Solo Album Racks Up 450K Pre-Orders

Global pop superstar Jennie’s debut studio album, Ruby, has officially crossed 450,000 worldwide pre-orders ahead of its March 7 release, Columbia Records said on Tuesday.

The 15-track album – released through a partnership with the label she founded, Oddatelier, and Columbia Records – is by far the 29-year-old’s most extensive body of work to-date. Ruby features collaborations with Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa and Kali Uchis. Jennie, who rose to international fame as a member of the K-Pop supergroup Blackpink, was the first of the four-member girl group to release a solo track with her 2018 single, “Solo.”

The singer has released three singles from the upcoming album, each showcasing a different side of herself. Jennie released “Mantra,” a pure fun pop track in line with her 2023 release “You and Me,” in October 2024 before dropping “Love Hangover” featuring Dominic Fike in January 2025 and “ExtraL” featuring Grammy-winning rapper Doechii in February. Ruby’s second track, “Like Jennie,” appears to be her next single.

Jennie is slated to perform at a select number of intimate shows, dubbed The Ruby Experience, which will kick off with two nights L.A.’s Peacock Theater beginning on March 6. She then heads to New York’s Radio City Music Hall and Seoul’s Inspire Arena.

The “Like Jennie” singer is set to perform at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, having played the festival twice as a member of Blackpink. Jennie and her fellow group members (Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé) headlined the festival in 2023 and made their Coachella debut in 2019. The four-piece girl group, formed under Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment, were the first K-Pop act to headline the festival.

Blackpink recently announced a 10-city world tour with stops in L.A., Chicago, Paris and more. All four members of the group have established increasingly fruitful solo careers in the last year, separate from their work in the group. In December 2023, it was announced that Blackpink had renewed their exclusive contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment; however, it was later announced that all four members decided to part ways with the label for solo activities. Much like Jennie and her company Oddatelier’s partnership with Columbia Records, the rest of Blackpink has new solo U.S. labels in Atlantic Records (Rosé), Warner Records (Jisoo) and RCA Records (Lisa; in partnership with her company LLOUD).
