Jennifer Lopez to Receive Equity in Entertainment Award at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast Gala

The Hollywood Reporter announced Tuesday that Jennifer Lopez will receive this year’s Equity in Entertainment Award during THR’s annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala in Los Angeles on Dec. 3.

Emmy Award-winning producer and actress Kerry Washington, who received the Equity in Entertainment Award in 2023, will present Lopez with the award. Lopez joins Gwyneth Paltrow, who The Hollywood Reporter previously announced will receive the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, as an honoree at this year’s gala.

The Equity in Entertainment Award recognizes individuals who amplify the voices of underrepresented communities in the entertainment industry. The award was created in 2016, and previous honorees include Selena Gomez, Kerry Washington, Issa Rae, Ryan Murphy, Amy Pascal, Nina Jacobson and Selma Blair.

“Jennifer Lopez has broken barriers and redefined what’s possible for women and Latinos in entertainment,” said Maer Roshan, editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter. “As an actress, artist, producer and entrepreneur, she has built a global platform that celebrates representation, empowers others and opens doors for the next generation. We’re thrilled to recognize her enduring commitment to promoting access, inclusion and opportunity with this year’s Equity in Entertainment Award.”

Attended by 600 industry leaders and VIPs, THR’s acclaimed Women in Entertainment event returns to its birthplace, The Beverly Hills Hotel, for the third consecutive year — more than 30 years after the event first began there. The gala coincides with the release of The Hollywood Reporter’s highly anticipated Women in Entertainment issue, which highlights the Power 100, a list of the most powerful female executives and talent in entertainment.

The news comes amid a stellar year for THR, which recently received a record-breaking number of nominations (a total of 85) at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards. Also in 2025, THR won 34 prizes at the SoCal Journalism Awards, landed a second consecutive Daytime Emmy nomination for its roundtable series and won the American Society of Magazine Editors award for best cover. The Women in Entertainment gala is one of many events organized by The Hollywood Reporter annually, including, most recently, the Creators A-List dinner and the Power Business Managers breakfast.
