Kelly Osbourne Fires Back at “Cruelty” Over Her Appearance: “I’m Currently Going Through the Hardest Time in My Life”

Kelly Osbourne has something to say to those criticizing her appearance.

After her appearance at Saturday’s Brit Awards to honor her father Ozzy Osbourne, who was posthumously honored with a lifetime achievement, Osbourne’s visible weight loss sparked concern and criticism online.

Taking to her Instagram story, Osbourne wrote, “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character.”

Osbourne then reiterated, “I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at 76 years old. During Saturday night’s awards ceremony, Kelly and her mother Sharon accepted the award on Ozzy’s behalf.

“If Ozzy was here tonight with us, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile that he had and I know he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved. So he may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him,” Sharon said.

“Thank you for loving my father as much as we do,” Kelly added.

Following her father’s death last year, Kelly opened up about her grief, describing it as a “strange thing” that “sneaks up on you in waves.”

“I will not be ok for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind,” she wrote on her Instagram at the time.

Kelly’s recent comments about her weight loss are not the first time she has spoken out about those commenting on her appearance.

“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right.’ My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family,” Kelly said in a since-deleted social media video last year. “So to all those people, fuck off.”

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Sharon defended her daughter, saying, “She’s lost her daddy, she can’t eat right now.”
