Kitty, The Gang and Peter Kavinsky Return to Seoul in ‘XO, Kitty’ Season 2 Trailer

Netflix dropped the trailer for season two of the streamer’s hit dramedy XO, Kitty Tuesday morning.

The romantic dramedy, a spinoff of Netflix’s To All the Boys trilogy, follows the youngest Song Covey sister, Kitty, portrayed by Anna Cathcart, as she navigates her teenage years full of love and friendship while attending Korean Independent School of Seoul, often called KISS.

The trailer shows Kitty and her friends returning for a new semester at KISS, with the teen heroine vowing to become “Kitty 2.0” for this new year. “Last semester end with so much drama. This semester I have my priorities straight – I’m going to hit the books and finally discover who my mom really was,” she says in the trailer.

Season one of XO, Kitty ended with a love square of sorts after Kitty broke up with her boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi) due to her budding feelings for her adversary-turned-friend Yuri (Gia Kim). However, Kitty didn’t get to tell Yuri how she felt when Yuri’s ex Julianna (Regan Aliyah) returned. To add a layer, Kitty’s former nemesis and reluctant roommate Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) confessed his feelings for her.

Tuesday’s trailer shows some new faces for season two but also features a huge surprise for fans of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Netflix confirmed that Noah Centineo will make an appearance in XO, Kitty‘s second season, reprising his role of the franchise’s beloved leading man, Peter Kavinsky. Decked out in a Stanford sweatshirt, Peter is shown hugging Kitty. “You are Kitty Song Freakin’ Covey,” Peter tells Kitty in the trailer. “Don’t you forget it.”

“Working with Anna again was amazing. She’s so wonderfully talented and her work ethic shows in every scene,” Centineo told Netflix’s Tudum.com. “Stepping back into the To All The Boys universe was a true joy and I hope our incredible audience enjoys seeing Peter again as much as I did.”

XO, Kitty‘s showrunner, Jessica O’Toole, says the chance to include Peter in the show was so exciting. “I can’t wait for the fans to see Peter interact with some of their favorite XO, Kitty characters and to see all of the other juicy surprises we have in store… including some big moments fans have been waiting for and others they will never see coming,” she said to Netflix’s Tudum.com.

XO, Kitty was renewed for its second season just four weeks after it racked up 72 million hours of viewing worldwide in its first week, according to Netflix’s internal figures.

To All the Boys author Jenny Han created the series. Jessica O’Toole acts as showrunner and writer of XO, Kitty season two. They executive produce the show, which comes from Awesomeness Studios, along with Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment.

Netflix has released the season 2 key art for ‘XO, Kitty’ ahead of its Jan. 2025 release.
