Kristen Bell, Tony Goldwyn and Nate Burleson Join 2025 Global Citizen Festival

The 2025 Global Citizen Festival is coming together.

After the previously announced news that Hugh Jackman will host the Sept. 27 NYC event — with The Weeknd and Shakira as headliners and Tyla, Ayra Starr and Mariah the Scientist as additional performers — Global Citizen announced Thursday that Bill Nye, Adam Lambert, Danai Gurira and Liza Koshy would serve as cohosts of the festival.

Kristen Bell, Tony Goldwyn, Laurie Hernandez, Nate Burleson and Vladimir Duthiers will also take part as speakers, along with Lydia Kekeli Amenyaglo, Fy Rajaonarivelo, Esther Kimani, Omowumi Ogunrotimi, Valeriia Rachynska, and Taily Terena. And Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo will join the music lineup, performing on Central Park’s Great Lawn.

Global Citizen is the world’s leading international advocacy organization focused on ending extreme poverty, amplified by campaigns and events that convene leaders in music, entertainment, public policy,
media, philanthropy and the corporate sector. The festival campaign is mobilizing $200 million
to protect 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest, expanding access to quality education and football for 30,000 children around the world in partnership with FIFA, providing energy access for 1 million people across Africa, and registering 40,000 New Yorkers to volunteer across the city.

The 2025 Global Citizen Festival will stream live around the world on Sept. 27 on YouTube, Apple Music and the Apple TV app, the Amazon Music En Vivo channel on Twitch, the Amazon Live FAST channel on Prime Video and FireTV, Brut, iHeartRadio, ViX, Mediacorp, and Veeps, and broadcast theatrically in India with PVR INOX Cinemas on Sept. 28.

This year’s festival campaign includes partnerships with The Bowery Mission and Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy to engage New York residents to volunteer, with support from Goodera. On Sept. 13, The Bowery Mission will host Global Citizen Day to provide nutrition and care for those living in poverty in our local communities; on Sept. 19, Global Citizen will organize a beach cleanup at Canarsie Pier to defend the planet and protect New York City’s coastline. The shore restoration is also in collaboration with the Black Surfing Association East Coast Chapter.

For the first time, the ceremonial movement Solstice Unites will open the Global Citizen Festival and present a historic Global Powwow to honor the land and the ancestral stewards of the grounds. The ceremony will pass the torch to Indigenous leaders in Brazil for the upcoming Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia in Belém on Nov. 1.
