Lindsay Lohan to Star in Hulu Drama ‘Count My Lies’ From ‘This Is Us’ Alums

Lindsay Lohan is set to topline her first scripted TV series.

The actress is set to star in Count My Lies, a drama that’s in development at Hulu. The project comes from 20th Television and former This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and is based on a novel by Sophie Stava. Lohan will also executive produce.

Count My Lies centers on compulsive liar Sloane Caraway, who bluffs her way into a job as a nanny for a gorgeous and charismatic couple, Violet and Jay Lockhart. “It seems she’s finally landed her dream job,” the show’s logline reads. “But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.”

Sources tell THR Lohan is set to play Violet Lockhart.

Should it go to series, Count My Lies will be Lohan’s first lead role in a TV or streaming show. She has guest starred on a number of series, including Ugly Betty, Eastbound & Down, 2 Broke Girls and Glee (where she played herself).

Lohan will next be seen in Disney’s feature film Freakier Friday, which hits theaters in August and is a sequel to the 2003 movie Freaky Friday. Other recent credits include the Netflix movies Our Little Secret, Irish Wish and Falling for Christmas and a cameo in last year’s Mean Girls musical feature.

Aptaker and Berger are writing Count My Lies and will executive produce via their Walk-Up Company, which has an overall deal at 20th TV. Lohan and The Walk-Up Company’s Scott Morgan also exec produce, and author Stava is a producer.

Lohan is repped by IAG , Dave Feldman and Vision PR. Aptaker and Berger are with CAA, Entertainment 360 and Hansen Jacobson. Stava is repped by CAA and Elisabeth Weed at The Book Group.

Deadline first reported the news.
