Macaulay Culkin Reveals His Son Dakota, 3, ‘Thinks He’s Kevin’ from Dad’s Movie Home Alone: ‘That Was Me!’
Macaulay Culkin’s son is such a big fan of Home Alone, he’s truly made the movie his own.
While speaking with E! News, the actor, 42, revealed that his sons Dakota, 3, and a 2-year-old whose name has not yet been revealed, absolutely love his iconic Christmas film, Home Alone. Culkin even shared that Dakota mixes up the hilarious actions of his dad’s character Kevin with his own childhood memories.
“He thinks he’s Kevin,” Culkin, who shares both his kids with fiancée Brenda Song, told the outlet.
“I’m like, ‘Do you remember going down the stairs on the sled?’ He’s like, ‘Mmhmm, yep. Sure do.’ I’m like, ‘Do you remember when he had yellow hair?’ And he’s like, ‘Uh-huh, yep.'”
Dakota even told his dad that he “fought the burglars,” but Culkin just couldn’t take his lies anymore.
“You’re a lying liar who lies,'” he joked to his toddler, adding, “That was me!'”
Culkin starred in the 1990 film alongside his brother Kieran Culkin, who revealed earlier this week that his daughter Kinsey, 5, and son Wilder, 3, aren’t allowed to watch the movie.
“There’s still some scary parts,” the dad of two explained. “For the 3-year-old, there’s the tarantula [and] there’s the guy at the end who said, ‘I’m gonna bite off all your fingers.’ That’s scary for a 3-year-old.”
“We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year,” he added. “If not, next year.”
