Matt Damon Dazzles with Impressive Backflip Off Yacht, Unveiling His Ripped Physique During Break from The Odyssey Filming

Matt Damon was recently spotted enjoying some leisure time on a yacht in Italy as he takes a break from filming The Odyssey. Earlier, he had been photographed showcasing his muscular physique while preparing to portray the legendary Greek hero Odysseus on set on March 25. In this upcoming film, Damon stars alongside a stellar cast that includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron, with the movie set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
Damon appears to be thriving as he takes a well-deserved break from filming The Odyssey. On Friday, April 11, the 54-year-old actor was seen unwinding on a yacht off the coast of Italy, flaunting his notably ripped physique. This sighting comes about two months after Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film released its first image of Damon as Odysseus.
In photos shared by various outlets, Damon was seen lounging on the yacht, enjoying a beer, and even performing a backflip off the side into the ocean during his time away from the film set. He had recently been photographed on set on March 25, where he filmed scenes shirtless, proudly displaying his impressive abs in Favignana, Italy. His co-star Zendaya was also spotted in costume that day as they filmed scenes for The Odyssey, which is based on the ancient Greek epic poem attributed to Homer.
The cast of The Odyssey features not only Damon and Zendaya, but also Tom Holland, 28, along with A-list talents like Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron. Other notable cast members include Cosmo Jarvis, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Ryan Hurst, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Benny Safdie, and Corey Hawkins.
Holland was photographed on the movie set on March 26, wearing a full chest plate and metal armor while standing near what looked like an antiquity-style Greek trireme in the water. His appearance came just one day after Damon and Zendaya were last seen filming on location.
Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey, follows his Academy Award-winning effort, Oppenheimer, released in 2023. Damon starred in Oppenheimer as Leslie Groves, a U.S. Army officer overseeing J. Robert Oppenheimer’s work on the Manhattan Project and the development of the atomic bomb during World War II.
Since then, Damon has appeared in films such as Drive-Away Dolls, IF, and The Instigators. He and his longtime friend and collaborator Ben Affleck are set to co-star in their Netflix movie RIP before The Odyssey is released in theaters on July 17, 2026.
