Inside the Life of Jillian Lauren: The Spouse of Weezer’s Bassist Facing Attempted Murder Charges
Jillian and Scott, who tied the knot in 2005, two years prior to his joining Weezer, adopted their son, Tariku, from Ethiopia in 2009. “My husband Scott and I had a long and circuitous road to parenting, including the whole painful infertility journey,” she shared in an interview. “We eventually found the right path for us and adopted our son from Ethiopia.”
Jillian disclosed that Tariku experiences PTSD and Sensory Integration Issues. “As a trauma survivor, my child perceives every potential danger as a threat to his very existence, and he reacts accordingly,” she explained. “It requires patient, consistent, fearless love to help these kids feel safe in the world and, as a result, begin to rewire their brains.”
In 2016, Jillian announced that she and Scott had welcomed a second son, Jovanni. “This kid sparkles with joy and sweetness, resilience, mischief, creativity, curiosity, music, dancing, and delight,” she expressed in a post on her website.
