Milo Ventimiglia Was ‘Sweet and Attentive’ to Wife Jarah in First Outing Since Sharing Pregnancy News (Exclusive Source)

Milo Ventimiglia and wife Jarah Mariano are spending some time together ahead of the birth of their first baby.

The couple stepped out for the first time in public since Mariano announced her pregnancy on Sept. 29, making an appearance at the ‘Joyride’ exhibit by photographer Brian Bowen Smith at Studio CT in California on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Ventimiglia, 47, wore a bright red shirt with flower motifs and a pair of jeans to the event while Mariano, 39, opted for a skintight black sheer blouse that showed off her baby bump.

In photos taken of the pair at the event, they appeared to be in high spirits. In one snap, the This is Us star could even be seen pressing a loving kiss to the model’s forehead as he wrapped his arms around her.

A source tells PEOPLE that the actor was “sweet and attentive to his wife throughout the whole event” and “seemed very proud to be with her.”

They also note that Mariano looked “radiant and glowing,” and the couple walked into the exhibit holding hands and “took a genuine interest in the artwork at the exhibit.”

“Milo was kissing her and whispering into her ear,” the insider adds. “They were just genuinely lovely together.”

The event — which was an ode to the artistry of Bowen Smith, who previously worked as photographer and director Herb Ritts’ former assistant — was also attended by Paris Jackson, Josh Brolin, Kim Basinger and singer Brandon Boyd, among other celebrities. 

Last month, Mariano announced that she and Ventimiglia are expecting their first baby together on Instagram with a pair of photos of herself floating on a surfboard in Hawaii while wearing a pink floral lei and a bikini that showed off her growing bump. 

“Baby on board!” she captioned the post, which also appeared to show another person — likely her actor husband — throwing a shaka sign to the camera.

The couple has mainly kept their relationship out of the public eye, something which The Company You Keep star has previously admitted to wanting to separate his private life from the characters he portrays.

“I try to minimize myself so people can see the character and can really dive into the work,” Ventimiglia explained at the time. “I try and remain as anonymous and invisible as I can so it doesn’t take away from the experience of the men that I play. I don’t know how interesting my life is any more than anyone else’s.”
