Netflix Drops Nate Bargatze Stand-Up Special Trailer Ahead of Christmas Eve Release
Netflix released the trailer for comic juggernaut Nate Bargatze‘s upcoming stand-up special, its Christmas gift to comedy fans that releases on Dec. 24.
Your Friend, Nate Bargatze marks the “clean and relatable” comedian’s return to the streamer for his fourth stand-up special. His third one, Nate Bargatze: Hello World, was released on Prime Video and broke records. It also caps a year that saw Bargatze sell over 1.2 million tickets to his This Be Funny Tour, a massive haul that has placed him at 12th in overall ticket sales nationwide, on par with Coldplay and Madonna.
A press release sent to The Hollywood Reporter promises the special will discuss wanting a second dog, how much pizza to order for guys’ night, his wife being the responsible one, and even more. In the trailer, Bargatze riffs on married life, chores and speaking at his child’s school.
“I went to a career day for my daughter’s school, so I was hoping to sit at a table alone,” he says to a packed stadium. “They put me at a table with a surgeon, which I think they did on purpose, almost, to show the kids. Here’s the difference between reading.”
Bargatze made another breakthrough earlier this fall when he hosted the second episode of the 50th season of Saturday Night Live in October. He received raves for his performance, where he memorably portrayed George Washington in a skit titled “Washington’s Dream” and an EMT debating what to do with a corpse at a waterpark. The is now producing a holiday variety show with SNL boss Lorne Michaels at CBS, which is slated to air Dec. 19.
The special comes after Bargatze performed two recent sold-out shows at The Hollywood Bowl with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan and Sebastian Maniscalco and announced his new book, Big Dumb Eyes: Stories From A Simpler Mind, set to be published in May.
Your Friend, Nate Bargatze was produced by John Irwin Entertainment and Nateland Entertainment, Bargatze’s family-friendly content company; Nateland produces standup comedy specials, showcases, sketches, and scripted episodic content for film, television, podcasts, music and more.
