Netflix Is Launching a Reality Show From Inside the WWE Writers Room — Watch a Teaser

The Undertaker is rolling over in his grave; kayfabe just got Tombstone pile-driven six feet into the dirt.
Netflix is launching a reality show from inside the WWE writers room (“and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars”), where the steamer says, “the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight.” The 10-episode, summer 2025 series comes with a completely self-aware title: WWE: Unreal.
Tell us that Vince McMahon has no say in WWE operations without telling us that Vince McMahon has no say in WWE operations.
”Kayfabe” is the practice of maintaining the illusion that professional-wrestling matches, storylines and characters are real. It’s slowly been slipping away, but the old school lived by the rule.
Chris Weaver will direct the series, which is showrun by Erik Powers. Peyton Manning is among the show’s executive producers, as is former WWE executive (and one time Fox Sports president) Jamie Horowitz. Ross Ketover, Keith Cossrow, Ken Rodgers, Jessica Boddy, Lee Fitting, Ben Houser and Marc Pomarico also executive produce; the show is produced by Manning’s Omaha Productions, the WWE, NFL Films and Skydance Sports.
Each episode will run 50 minutes. Netflix hasn’t specified a premiere date but did release a teaser trailer. In it, Paul “Triple H” Levesque shares his reasoning for once and for all killing kayfabe.
“Seven days a week, 365 days a year. This is a calculated, coordinated production. It’s time. We’re gonna lift the curtain,” the former WWE Superstar and current WWE chief content officer says.
Levesque then goes on to lay out his plans for 2025, including strapping “a rocket” to Jey Uso’s back. He sure did — Jey is now WWE World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Gunther at WrestleMania 41 this past Saturday. WrestleMania, now a two-night event, concluded last night.
