Olivia Wilde has a new movie as director on the way.

On Thursday, May 22, the star, 41, shared a photo on Instagram showing herself kneeling on the ground as she worked with filmmaking equipment from the set of her new movie The Invite, which Wilde said just finished filming.

“BTS of The Invite. Which we just wrapped after shooting for 23 days, in order, on film, with some of the greatest humans ever made,” Wilde wrote in a caption to her post.

She continued, “I don’t yet have the words to say how meaningful this experience has been. So for now just want to say THANK YOU to every brilliant, kind, hilarious person who made this production happen. I can’t wait to show the world what we all made together.”

Wilde’s The Invite marks her first time directing a movie since her 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling, which starred Florence Pugh and Wilde’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles.

Variety first reported that Wilde would direct The Invite in April. The movie features an A-list cast that includes Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, as well as Wilde herself.

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis look like they have put their messy split behind them as they reunite in Los Angeles. Olivia gave Jason a big hug as they met up at a park where their kids were playing. The exes spent a few minutes talking alone and catching up before going their separate ways.

Wilde and Rogen’s collaboration on The Invite comes after Wilde made a cameo as herself on Rogen’s Apple TV+ series The Studio for an episode that follows a fictional mystery about missing film reels on a movie Wilde is directing.

“Hilarity ensued,” Wilde wrote of that The Studio episode on Instagram April 6, as she shared photos of her and Rogen, 43, on the set. “So much respect for everyone who created The Studio, and so happy I got to stop by and make fun of myself and this funny wonderful weird dumb magical town.”
