Ozzy Osbourne Cause of Death Revealed (Reports)

Heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne died of a heart attack, according to a death certificate reviewed Tuesday by The New York Times.
Osbourne had been living with long-term health issues for years before he died on July 22 at age 76. Per the Times, Osbourne’s certificate officially said that the icon died of cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction.
Osbourne died just weeks after he performed his Back to the Beginning Farewell show in his hometown of Birmingham, U.K. That show featured a reunion of Black Sabbath and performances from fellow hard-rock legends like Metallica and Guns N’ Roses, raising about $190 million for charity. Osbourne performed one last time that day from a large black throne, singing classics like “Crazy Train,” “Mama, I’m Coming Home” solo, and “War Pigs,” “Iron Man” and “Paranoid” with Black Sabbath.
Osbourne was one of the most iconic figures in all of pop culture for decades, both for his musical output and for his reality star status thanks to The Osbournes. His death was met with an outpouring of tributes from icons across music and entertainment, including Elton John, Metallica, Billy Idol and Judas Priest, among others. His catalog has skyrocketed since his death, too, with his greatest hits album sitting at No. 10 on this week’s Billboard 200 Albums chart.
Osbourne’s daughter Kelly Osbourne posted an emotional tribute to her late father on Tuesday, writing that “I will not be ok for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”
