‘Prep & Landing’ Returns After 14 Years With New Christmas Special (Exclusive)

After more than a decade wait, Prep & Landing is back with a new Christmas special, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. That’s an elf-ing lot of prep.

Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol will premiere at 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) on Disney Channel. The special will be made available on Disney+ the following day, and the elves will head to ABC’s shelves later in the season. And since Disney has roughly 1,000 platforms … that’s not all! Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol will also be a part of Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas.”

The Snowball Protocol marks the fourth Prep & Landing holiday special; the series follows an elite organization of Christmas elves tasked with preparing (the “prep”) homes for Santa’s arrival (the “landing”). Dave Foley will reprise his role of Wayne, the “world-weary by dedicated” one. Also back in voice form are Sarah Chalke as Magee, the “ambitious and eggnog latte-obsessed” command center coordinator, and Derek Richardson as Lanny, Wayne’s “loyal friend and ever-agreeable partner.”

Newcomers include Manny Jacinto as Renato, the North Pole’s resident massage therapist and holistic healer; Dulcé Sloan as Janice, a North Pole post office clerk; and Danny Pudi as Chef Geoff, the master chef at the Fruitcake Factory. Christopher Swindle plays Santa.
