Princess Eugenie Celebrates Mother’s Day in the U.K. with Rare Photo of Her 2 Sons: ‘Proud Mama’

Princess Eugenie is feeling the love on Mother’s Day in the U.K.

The youngest daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew shared a trio of photographs on Instagram as she marked the annual holiday, also referred to as “Mothering Sunday” in the country, on March 30.

The first photo showed Eugenie, 35, reading a children’s book with her sons August, 4, and Ernest, 22 months, whom she shares with husband Jack Brooksbank.

In a second image, the kids got creative and made their mom a heart-shaped Mother’s Day card. In the final image, Eugenie paid tribute to her mom with a snapshot that showed them smiling together.

“Happy Mother’s Day from this proud mama and daughter xxxx 💕 💕,” Eugenie captioned the heartfelt post.

King Charles’ niece is one of just a few members of the royal family to maintain a public presence on social media and is known to share a mix of personal and professional updates on her Instagram page.

Last year was Princess Eugenie’s first Mothering Sunday as a mom of two, as her son Ernest was born just a few weeks after the King’s coronation in May 2023.

Eugenie’s mother previously voiced her pride in seeing her daughters as parents in an Instagram tribute then, where she wished Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice a happy Mothering Sunday.

“Happy mother’s day to my mother, who was a brave and bright soul and who is deeply missed, and to all of the mums out there, including my two amazing daughters that now have children of their own,” the Duchess of York wrote below a throwback photo of her and her sister Jane as children with their late mother Susan Barrantes, who died in 1998. “It is so much fun to watch them grow and to watch you teach them as I had the greatest pleasure of my life teaching you.”

While Eugenie and Jack, 38, are raising their sons outside of the public eye, the princess is vocal about the values they are instilling in their children.

In a post for International Women’s Day on March 8, Princess Eugenie wrote in part, “As a mum of boys, I am celebrating women bringing up boys to know how special this day and every day with women in it is.”

Princess Eugenie is a passionate advocate for conservation like her uncle the King and cousin Prince William, and she has also said that it’s a parenting priority for her kids to understand climate change.

“My son’s going to be an activist from 2 years old, which is in a couple of days. Everything is for them… Every decision we now make has to be for whether August, what he’s going to be able to look at and do and how he’s going to live his life,” she told Reuters at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January 2023, the Daily Mail reported then.

Eugenie marked her birthday last weekend, turning 35 on March 23. The princess posted a new photo of herself sitting at a pint-sized picnic table with August and Ernest to commemorate the occasion, captioning the snap “Birthday besties.”
