Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Daughter Malti, 3, ‘Insists’ She is Named After a Disney Princess and Goes by the Name at School

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter Malti Marie is convinced that she is Disney royalty, and it’s not just because of her dad’s connection to the House of Mouse.

During a Tuesday, June 24, appearance on Good Morning America, the 42-year-old Heads of State actress opened up about being a mom to her 3-year-old daughter.

While she said that Malti is an “adrenaline junky” who enjoyed her first ride on a rollercoaster recently, Chopra added that the toddler is “such a girly girl” and a huge fan of princesses.

In fact, Chopra said that Malti was such a big fan of Moana that she “insists” she is named after the beloved Disney princess.

“She introduces herself as Malti Marie Moana Chopra Jonas. She insists she’s Moana. She insists it’s her name, like officially her name in school. She says, ‘I’m Malti Marie Moana,’ ” Chopra said to laughs.

Jonas also recently reflected on Malti being a fan of Moana, telling PEOPLE in March 2025 that his daughter isn’t impressed by his fame or what he does for a living.

“She wants to play Moana and Maui with me, and that means more to me than anything else, is that time with her. And just the fact that I’m just Dad when I’m home, it means a lot,” he said, adding that the “best part about being a dad” is “you could feel like your coolest self on top of the world, and she just doesn’t care at all.”

Malti isn’t just a fan of princesses; she is also a budding fashionista.

“She loves coming into my closet, wearing my shoes, seeing my dresses. She was with us when we were getting dressed for the Met Gala, and she put on my gloves and my hat and she said, ‘Mama and Gaga are going to a ball, just like Cinderella,’ ” Chopra recalled while on GMA, adding that Malti refers to Nick as “Gaga.”

Chopra revealed another sweet name that Malti uses when talking about her dad, who is famously a member of the Jonas Brothers.

During a June 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress said that her daughter has heard some of Jonas’ music. However, she doesn’t refer to the band by their official name.

“I mean she doesn’t identify them, but she calls them the Donut Brothers,” she shared.

During her appearance on GMA, Chopra seemed interested in getting the Donut Brothers to stick, urging the anchors to introduce the band by the name next time they appear on the show.

Chopra and Jonas, who wed in 2018, welcomed Malti via surrogate in January 2022.
