Ree Drummond Shares Throwback Photo for Daughter Alex’s Birthday: ‘I Will Always See Her Like This’

Ree Drummond celebrated her daughter Alex Drummond Scott’s 28th birthday with a sentimental look back.

“My beautiful daughter,” the Pioneer Woman star, 56, began the caption to a sweet throwback shot of her oldest daughter as a child on Wednesday, June 25. “My Alex! She’s married now, and a mother. But I will always see her like this ❤️ She’s precious to us. Happy birthday, Alex!!”

“Love you mom,” Alex replied to the post.

Alex tied the knot with her husband Mauricio Scott in 2021. On Dec. 18, 2024, Alex and Mauricio welcomed their first child, daughter Sofia, making Ree and her husband Ladd grandparents.

In addition to Alex, Ree and Ladd are parents to Paige, 25, Bryce, 22, Jamar, 22, and Todd, 21. 

Last month marked another celebration for the family, when Paige and David Andersen, a construction engineer, got married on the Drummond ranch nine months after announcing their engagement in August 2024.

Ree took fans behind-the-scenes of Paige’s special day with updates on Instagram, including the “hip grandma updo” she wore for the occasion.

The bride and groom also hosted a “disco rodeo”-themed afterparty, and Ree later shared details from the festive bash on her Pioneer Woman blog.

Ree has embraced her role as grandma to 6-month-old Sofia, and has noted the baby’s resemblance to Alex at that age.

“It might as well be 1997 because this is 100% Alex Drummond as a baby,” Ree wrote on Instagram in March alongside a snap of her granddaughter. “Which means I’m 28. 😂”

That same month, Ree shared that she didn’t think she was ready to be a grandparent, but is now “loving” it.

“When your firstborn has a baby that looks exactly like she looked, you get to relive all the delicious feelings of first-time motherhood, but without the sleep deprivation, hormones, and confusion,” she captioned a video of Sofia.

“I didn’t think I was ready yet to cross over to the granny side of the street, but Lord in Heaven… I am loving it and I’m so grateful for this gift,” she wrote.
