Rihanna Calls Out DJ Khaled for ‘Butchering’ Mangoes: ‘My Lil Caribbean Heart Aches’

The way DJ Khaled eats mangoes isn’t sitting right with Rihanna.
The 49-year-old DJ and record producer has eaten many fresh mangoes straight from the tree in videos shared to his Instagram page as of late. Earlier this month, Rihanna, 37, took to his comments section to playfully express her frustration with his method.
In a video shared to Instagram on May 19, Khaled peeled a mango with a knife before eating the fruit. “Spring is here SUMMER IS NEAR,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “We have to give Positivity, positive is a lifestyle.”
Rihanna didn’t feel so positively about watching the video. “stop butchering these mangos bro! Lol,” wrote the superstar. “My lil Caribbean heart aches everytime!”
Khaled replied, “I tried use my teeth but my tooth almost fall out . My next mango I’ll try again.”

The “All I Do Is Win” artist shared another video of himself eating a mango to Instagram on May 21, but this time he peeled the fruit with his teeth and ate it without any utensils.
“I got it right now , I tried yesterday but mi tooth almost fall out,” wrote Khaled in the caption, tagging the “Rude Boy” performer. “But now wit your motivation mango not butchered.”
He added, “ONE RIhanna ! @badgalriri bless up always !”

The two artists previously worked together on the 2017 hit “Wild Thoughts” with Bryson Tiller, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
As of late, Khaled has teased his upcoming fourteenth studio album, Aalam of God, though the project does not currently have a set release date.

Meanwhile, Rihanna recently released her first song in four years: “Friend of Mine” from the soundtrack of the upcoming Smurfs film, in which she voices the role of Smurfette.
Jon Bellion, who cowrote and coproduced “Friend of Mine,” spoke about Rihanna’s approach to the track in an interview with Billboard.
“She’s not looking for ‘We Found Love 2.0,’ or ‘Work 2.0,’” he said, referencing two of her chart-topping hits. “The arrangement and the feel feels all very new — very cutting-edge, in front of what the next wave will be, because she usually tries to do that every time she puts something out.”
