Royal Oops! See Royal Ascot’s Mistake Related to Princess Beatrice’s Appearance

NEED TO KNOW
- Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, attended the Royal Ascot again on Thursday, June 19
- After attending without taking part in the royal family’s carriage procession earlier in the week, the princess and her husband arrived in a carriage
- However, there was a mistake on the carriage procession list
Did you catch the mistake about Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, at Royal Ascot?
After they attended Royal Ascot without participating in the royal carriage procession on the first day of Royal Ascot, Tuesday, June 17, the royal couple joined her uncle, King Charles, and other members of the extended family for the horse-drawn tradition two days later.
However, when Ascot Racecourse released the official carriage list for Thursday, June 19, Edoardo’s name was misspelled. In the third carriage, with Princess Zahra Aga Khan and royal horse trainer William Haggas, Princess Beatrice’s name was listed alongside “Mr. Eduardo Mapello Mozzi.”
The royal couple also wore nametags at the event, where Edoardo’s name was spelled properly.
Despite the typo, Beatrice, 36, and her husband, 41, seemed to enjoy their day at the Ascot. They were photographed chatting closely while watching the races and even sharing some PDA in the form of a kiss.

The princess has made a gradual return to royal life in recent months following the birth of their daughter Athena on Jan. 22.
Athena was born several weeks prematurely, and Princess Beatrice shared her “sheer worry” about her daughter’s early arrival in a personal essay for British Vogue in March. She wrote that she and her family now have “a few more answers as to what happened, but still no precise explanation” of the early birth and noted the experience taught her “so much.”
Edo, as Beatrice’s husband is called, shared an intimate mother-daughter photo from the interview in a touching tribute on Instagram. “So much pride for my beautiful wife, who has bravely shared our story of Athena’s early arrival,” he wrote.

Beatrice and Edoardo are also parents to daughter Sienna, 3, as well as his son, Christopher Woolf, 9, from a previous relationship.
While the princess and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, are non-working royals with professional careers of their own, Beatrice does serve an important position within the royal family. She was appointed as a Counsellor of State to her uncle, which means she could execute constitutional duties if the King is abroad or unwell.
Beatrice and Edoardo’s daughters don’t currently hold royal titles in England; however, they did inherit Italian nobility on their father’s side. As the oldest son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, Edoardo will inherit his family’s ancestral seat, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.
Upon their wedding day in July 2020, Beatrice became an Italian “Contessa” and “Nobile Donna,” and their daughters — and any future children — will follow suit.
